Are the posted questions getting worse?

Email addresses have been transferrable for at least 10 years.

Right??? I have gone down that path. She is a total technophobe and would rather pay $15/month instead of letting me transfer it for her and spend nothing. I even told here if she really feels compelled she could put the money in our boys 529 plans instead of AOLs pocket. /Sigh

"Sigh" indeed.  That would be a very worthy place to put $15 buck a month.

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.

Sorry to hear you need to start a job search, they can be tasking.  Not sure where you are looking or if you would be interesting in relocating, but I will keep an eye out.

Thank you. I'm in Atlanta and prefer not to relocate, but I'm open to it.

    Sorry to hear that.

If I was still working, I might be interested in discussing a job with you because your posts here plus the fact that many people I respect respond to your posts in a way that indicates that they respect you combine to make pretty good evidence of your competence.  But sadly it's ten years since I was last recruiting, and anyway that was for jobs in Beirut which I guess might be a location that wouldn't suit you at all.

So I wish you the best of luck in hunting for a new position, but sadly that's all I can do.

With all the Lebanese descendants in Mexico, it would be funny if I moved to Beirut. I appreciate the kind words and I'm hopeful that I'll  find something soon. I'm already getting responses for different positions.

  • I know they are there for a reason, however, there are some days that I really hate the restrictiveness of the group policy permissions that are applied to every domain account at work...

I've been tasked with updating the data source of every report in a repository on SSRS, as it's moving. Powershell is a great way of doing this, so off I went to install the ReportingServicesTools Module. Firewall blocked the download (anything the firewall is unable to read (i.e. anything that isn't a pdf, excel or word document, it basically blocks)... Finally got that signed off, and now I can't actually add the module because running scripts are disabled across the domain. >_<

Looks like I need to get a minion to manual go into every report in that repository (all 300 odd of them), and manually update them all. Now, to just need to find a "willing" minion. :Whistling:

Good luck, Luis. I'd expect a person with your skills & always-helpful attitude to get snapped up very quickly.

Thought I posted that on this board not editorials, anyways please move it.  As for the subject matter in light of things like GDPR and breaches etc, I was interested in what others may or may not have done when presented with situations where they were technically doing something legal but might have rubbed them the wrong way.  If that makes you uncomfortable why?

Moved, and yes. Editorials is just a forum like others.

  • Just WOW.  I don't know what else to say.

Edit: This isn't about the Shadiest day either.
