Great place... As long as you don't have to drive anywhere.
I think that's the only place where I've been stuck in grid locked traffic at midnight on a Sunday on the interstate.

I basically moved here from Mexico City and I can assure you that traffic is not that bad. You're just too spoiled.

Interesting to say the least...

Hey... I take no issue with that statement. I freely admit to appreciating free flowing traffic.
Both Jacksonville & Dayton are prone to stand still traffic at times but once you learn the traffic patterns you can avoid the bulk of it, most of the time.
San Diego and Atlanta stand out as being the two places where it doesn't seem to matter... If you hit a major thoroughfare, you'll experience grid lock.
That said, I've never lived in either location and never visited long enough to learn the traffic patterns so it's entirely possible that I have a skewed perception.

And new news from FL...
A married couple in Florida, Tito and Amanda Watts, were arrested a few days ago for selling “golden tickets to heaven” to hundreds of people.
They sold the tickets on the street for $99.99 per ticket, told buyers the tickets were made from solid gold, and that each ticket reserved the buyer a spot in heaven — simply present the ticket at the pearly gates and you’re in.
Tito Watts said in his police statement: "I don’t care what the police say. The tickets are solid gold… And it was Jesus who give them to me behind the KFC and said to sell them so I could get me some money to go to outer space. I met an alien named Stevie who said if I got the cash together he’d take me and my wife on his flying saucer to his planet that’s made entirely of drugs. You should arrest Jesus because he’s the one that gave me the golden tickets and said to sell them. I’m willing to wear a wire and set Jesus up...."
Amanda Watts said in her police statement:" "We just wanted to leave earth and go to space and do drugs. I didn’t do nothing. Tito sold the golden tickets to heaven. I just watched."
Police said they confiscated over $10,000 in cash, drug paraphernalia, and a baby alligator.

This has been a long running thing. It shows up every now and then over the last several years. Absolutely no basis in fact at all. I wish it was true because it would hilarious!!!

Adding "in Florida" to anything, no matter how preposterous, provides instant plausibility.
The only thing that really raises a red flag is the part about confiscating $10K in cash... Your average crackhead will die from an overdose long before they accumulate that kind of $$$.

A tour guide in Dunedin (SI, NZ) was telling about a satllite town Mosgiel which gets more and more popular for new housing development, because it's connected by a motorway with the center of Dunedin. During off-peak hours, he said, it takes only 11 minutes to drive there. But during rush hour it's a different story - it could take whole eleven and a half minutes!

My grandparents used to have a little cabin up in the UP just north of Mackinac Island... The place where I learned (the hard way) that ambient air temperature and lake water temperature have NOTHING to do with one and other.
So that is really the extent of my personal experience with the entire state of Michigan.Well... That and the fact that I'm originally from Dayton, OH... So, of course, blue and yellow are the colors of the devil...
Hahahaha....yeah, Ohio has a problem. What cracks me up is that MU has a probably bigger rivalry with MSU, but OSU fans won't believe it

Well, today has been a day. I received a call from my dad while I was at work, and all he said was he was stuck on the floor. All I could think of was that he had sat on the floor to do to something and then couldn't get back up. Needless to say I hurried home to find him laying face down in the hallway. His walker was still upright. First question I asked him was if he fell. He answered no, that his legs started getting weak so he climbed down the walker until he was on the floor. Well, I called 911 and shortly after I had an ambulance and the fire department at the house.
Well, I will spare the details, HIPPA and all, but he is currently in the hospital and we will see what happens from here.
I really don't need days like this, it is very stressful.

Sorry to hear that Lynn, but at least he didn't fall when it happened. I hope that things go better for him soon.
