I get the frustration with someone not having enough information or knowledge and at each suggestion or item they try, they are still missing knowledge and need to backfill. That can be hard, often because someone doesn't know how to start learning.
I think that thread was handled well. Lead them, but ask them to do some work and learn. Don't get frustrated when someone is trying, but venting a bit about finding suggestions that make all sorts of assumptions. We struggle with that here, as authors often write from their point of view, the point where someone has the knowledge. Trying to get them to understand not to skip steps or provide links can be hard.
That OP is frustrated the same way you are with your post, Lynn. They feel they're not getting treated well.
Last time I had to setup an SFTP solution was around 2007 or 2008 while working at School District 11. Pretty hard to remember that far back. I don't even remember what open source 3rd party product we used, just remember that it didn't handle UNC paths so we had to modify that particular SSIS package directly on the server it ran when changes needed to be made.
Thinking of that, though, I will try to reach out to a friend who still works there.
Looks like the process we setup back in the day has been changed and may not be helpful anymore.

That would be great, but I'm not knocking your response or others. Mostly just asking you to remember what it's like to be frustrated by a lack of knowledge and even less time.

Man, I step away from the forum for a week while I was out of the office, and this thread pretty much went dark...
🙂
Now to go browsing through the forums to see what I've missed.

Ouch!
😎
BTW, I've run my routers of a Linux/BSD on a read only media for years, felt it was necessary when having a 1Gb dedicated fiber home office connection, finally I can justify the effort😉

Nah, GCHQ
Heh - MANY have been caught with their hand in the cookie jar lately. New vulnerabilities are being found at an alarming rate. Here's a few recent ones:
Mac software mining cryptocurrency: https://thehackernews.com/2018/03/cryptocurrency-mining-software.html
If you're a Samba fan, check out https://thehackernews.com/2018/03/samba-server-vulnerability.html
Even ISPs are getting in on the act with governments: https://thehackernews.com/2018/03/cryptocurrency-spyware-malware.html
That's just a few. BTW, in spite of the name, I check that site all the time. They do send some spam if you sign up for their newsletter, but you don't have to sign up.

Past couple of weeks my ex and I have been trying Vanilla Wafer Cookie recipes. We made a double double batch of one recipe last night (we baked 213 cookies). I took home 84 cookies and brought them to work today. I now have 17 cookies left.
Another 84 cookies went to my oldest daughter, and the ex kept the rest.

I will have to get it from the ex. Remind again later. I did send her a text saying that I need the recipe.

The recipe we used last night seems to be the closest to Nilla Wafers. Don't eat them hot from the oven, let them stand for a while. The flavor enhances while they sit.
Looks like she is going to pull up the recipe now.

Ingredients:
1 cup All Purpose flour (we used unbleached flour)
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 table spoons vanilla extract (she used dark Mexican vanilla)
1/2 stick unsalted butter (4 table spoons)
2 egg yolks
Method:
1) preheat oven to 350 F
2) sift the flour into a bowl and set aside
3) in a large bowl combine the vanilla, baking powder, salt, and sugar by whisking
4) add in the butter (melted) and whisk again until nice and smooth
5) add the egg yolks, one at a time, mixing well after each one
6) dump the flour in and mix until just combined - make sure you have no dry spots left!
Baking:
Using standard baking sheet(s), cover with parchment paper
With a measuring tea spoon, scoop out one teaspoon flattened, roll the dough out of the spoon into a ball and place on the cookie sheet.
We were able to put 42 cookies on one sheet without them merging together.
The recipe said to cook for 12 to 15 minutes (iirc, not on the pics the ex provided of the recipe) but we cooked then for 18 minutes turning the cookie sheet 180 degrees after 9 minutes.
Note, the recipe above is the standard recipe, not the double double batch we did last night.
Additional note, we are at about 6000 feet, so altitude my play a roll.
Another note, again, let them sit for a while before consuming.
