Then there are those who don't understand basic T-SQL well enough to understand what happens when you "inject SQL" in a query that results in a SQL query that doesn't even parse.

At least that person is trying to make an argument to fix the code.

That is true, but it doesn't help if he doesn't understand what he is being told.

And the "helper" is still at it. He's got an answer for everything, no matter how badly misguided. He's approaching troll status and his emulation of others in giving bad advice is just plain sad.

Got to love Microsoft minutes. Having to uninstall an application on the Work PC, and the Installer showed it would take an impressive 68 Microsoft minutes. Some 5 minutes later it had 15 Microsoft Seconds remaining. That was 15 minutes ago, and it still states 15 Microsoft seconds.

At least the installers which zoom straight to 99% and then hang there for 10 minutes seem to be a thing of the past.

Sean Lange - Friday, December 1, 2017 9:05 AMBrandie Tarvin - Friday, December 1, 2017 8:28 AMAt risk of politicizing The Thread, has anyone noticed any shifts in their workplaces due to the current #MeToo / Sexual Harassment movement?I'm curious to see how far this has filtered down (if at all) into places that the news media hasn't picked up on yet.
Nope I try to stay in our little hallway of cubes and avoid talking to as many people at work as possible. This is not because I am scared of the light or an introvert, it is because I can't deal with average level of stupidity around the office which is quite staggering. Although I have considered making it a requirement that nobody can speak to me in person and all communication must be done through email. That way there is a record of all communication. 🙂

Dear Beloved Colleague,
Per our recent conversation of DMM/DD/YYYY, I will be taking the following actions, providing this email to make sure that the tasks are not lost in the busy shuffle here at ABC corp. This also serves as a reminder that you promised to X, Y and Z by MM/DD/YYYY. Thank you for your insight, it is truly appreciated, and I believe that working together to solve this problem will make not just our lives better, but the entire company more productive.
Sincerely,
Grumpy Elf

I think I'd prefer some made up numbers at this point. I'm still at 15 seconds (an hour later). >_< Pretty confident in saying that it's never going to finish.

At this point I'd like to see the OS/2 Warp cat just chasing a 'Done!' around the screen and catching it when it's really done. Give up on time estimates all together and make it something entertaining to watch.
I miss that cat...

Symantec??? OK, there's your problem right there! Actually we just moved off of Symantec 2 months ago, and it took like 2 hours and 2 reboots to remove it from my computer
