Lynn Pettis - Thursday, September 28, 2017 12:32 PMEd Wagner - Thursday, September 28, 2017 12:24 PMIs anyone going to SQL Saturday Pittsburgh this weekend?
If anyone's going to be there, it would be nice to meet a fellow Threadizen and put a face with the name.Pittsburgh is, without a doubt, the best SQL Saturday I've ever attended. They just put on a great event.
Trying to decide if I should put money aside and go to SQL Saturday in Providence, RI in December. I would get to spend a day with my daughter before the event by going out there on a Thursday.
Sounds like it's totally worth going then.

Have you been able to find this posted on Microsoft's site? I haven't found this anywhere.

Not me.I will instead be at SQL Saturday Holland, delivering a whole new session that I just did a first practice run for in (...) 90 minutes.
And I have only 60.....

Agreed 100%. Going to spend time with my daughter would be worth it for me. The SQL Saturday is a nice bonus.

Edit: Great, the 'insert link' button doesn't want to work. 🙁

There was a webcast a few weeks ago that announced the servicing model. I missed it, but Glenn let me know.
This means, a single branch of code and patches for most of us. I suspect few people will be GDR only, but this will make some things simpler. Just apply a CU when you want to catch up.

Thom A - Monday, October 2, 2017 7:57 AMAnyone got any idea what time 2017 goes up, or is it just (at some point) "today"?
If you don't have it available, just use DBCC TIMEWARP to get it.

Yeah I picked it up a couple months ago. 😉

On the download pages, apparently on Docker. Ran a quick apt-get, hadn't see an update yet for Linux.

Don't bother, 2025 is much better finally. Microsoft really started making progress once Bill Gates became a disembodied head in a jar.

Wait, is the 2025 edition the one that requires the implantation of a neural link device that lets SQL Server use your brain power to offload query processing and requires all users of the database to have one? Or is that the 2050 edition?
Regardless, it works great with a big enough user base, but those people like me who put the neural link on their pet goldfish get some weird results...

That's normal. The brain was wasting too many resources by supporting the full body. Now it's basically installed in Core Edition. :hehe:
