LOL no, I was thinking more like this quote from Wikipedia:
"In addition to giving humankind fire, Prometheus claims to have taught them the arts of civilization, such as writing, mathematics, agriculture, medicine, and science."

You know how "Prometheus" would be in Latin, right?

he he, nice obfuscation!
Back in the days I had MAC address registration on top of then standard WEP, if the nmap fingerprint didn't match, then everything was routed to CHARGEN (Character Generator Protocol), never had any problemsπ

Ah, this would be a fun weekend to be in Vegas...
DEF CON, BlackHat, and BSides conferences all in town, at once...
I expect to see Vegas in flames by the end of the weekend from the hacker wars.
Ceasar's Casino has already shut down their business center to avoid it being hacked.

I decided to have some fun and see if I'm actually being watched from work (if I am, I might get a visit from some nice people,) my wifi is named KGB_POST_069
I've thought about setting up a guest wifi as well and calling it CIA_POST_960

Man, next month is shaping up to be fun (not work stuff)
12th we're going to a Brad Paisley concert (originally the wife and I were going camping, then she saw he was going to be in concert near'ish to us. She'd wanted to go the last time he was on tour but couldn't, so I told her to get tickets, we'd go camping another time)
18th there's a free airshow for employees of my work (pre-public show warmup flights, including the USAF Thunderbirds - http://teamselfridge.com/)
25th is the re-release of the re-mastered and 3D'ed Terminator 2
Sept 1st the wife and I are going to FanExpo - Toronto (and I'll be trying to figure out how to go see the 40th anniversary re-release of Close Encounters of the Third Kind)
Going to be a fun, busy, month.

Nice, sounds like fun.
I'll be off to a horse race (my wife's), then in India for a 8 days of holiday and 6 days of work, then back for a week, another horse race, then in the UK for work. Then I get to come back and help manage a horse clinic at the house my wife is putting on. That's me making lunches each day.

We have a third party "application" that the entire front end is written in flash. I have voiced my issues with this quite loudly over the last couple years as this project has been being developed. Yes it is new software being written in flash. Not sure what the powers that be will say now. :satisfied:

GilaMonster - Tuesday, July 25, 2017 7:03 AMAll my home machines have names out of Arthurian stories.Desktop: Myrlin (and new desktops get the same name)
Server: Old server was Camelot, when I got a new server I needed to run at the same time it became Tintagel
Laptop: ExcaliburOther devices: As I feel in the same theme.
VMs generally get named for their purpose as they don't usually live long.
A long time ago I used names from the stories of the Feinn and other Gaelic mythology - a server caller Cúchulainn, another called Medb, small desktop called Sétanta, laptop called Aillte; but now I just call machines by whatever boring name they construct for themselves or suggest when I install an OS on them or when I create a privileged account so that I can kill off the admin account they came with (that old habit hasn't died yet).
