Brandie Tarvin - Friday, July 21, 2017 6:31 AMEd Wagner - Friday, July 21, 2017 6:22 AMAnother question is: Did you post your post twice. I see a different version of it as the last post of the previous page. If you didn't, then providing any unusual steps during your post might be a help to Steve in troubleshooting what's going on.I posted two different posts about the same subject. The first post I posted did the same thing Jeff's reply did, which confused me. So I posted about that confusion only to have the website start acting normally again after I posted that.
Well, I'd say that's a good thing. At least it was you that posted twice and not the forum software double-posting. Thanks.

It's going to be strangely quiet when I get home tonight. Last night we had to take our dog (15yrs old) on her final vet visit. When I get home it's time to start putting away her dog beds and such.
I'm gonna miss that pupper-pooch.

I get where you're at. In one year, I had to put my dog (age = ~14) down. We got another dog and then had to have him put down 5 months later. It sucked. We haven't gotten another one since.

Anyone else getting timeout error messages when replying to posts? It's happened a couple of times to me over the past few days.
Of course, I could be taking too long to wordsmith my replies.

Sorry for your loss. They really do become a family member if only for a few years. It never gets any easier. :crying:

Brandie Tarvin - Friday, July 21, 2017 6:06 AMBrandie Tarvin - Friday, July 21, 2017 6:05 AMHuh. I don't know if this is a new bug or related to the bug others mentioned a few days back, but when I post and end up at the start of a new page or get a notification for a reply that's at the start of a new page, I do only see the one post and this in the bottom right hand corner.Feels a little odd that it's not listing multiple pages like it usually does if the post is not the top of the page.
I got this off of Jeff's quote of my last post and then when I posted, I did only see my post and not his. So yeah, something strange going on.
I had that happen a couple days ago also. Like Ed said I just went to another page and it all seemed ok again. I have to say that the oddities with posting is increasing. The bizarre cursor placement when typing seems to happen more and more. Really makes posting a lot more effort than it should be.

I've been seeing this more often on forums, it seems like the effort to add fancy and "pretty" features gets in the way of the primary function of a forum.

Steve Jones - SSC Editor - Thursday, July 20, 2017 10:51 AMThom A - Thursday, July 20, 2017 9:40 AMI've always been sceptical of the keyless entry cars. I get concerned that if I were to park it on the driveway, that depending on where I left my key, the car would stay unlocked. The car's where I keep all my important things! (Like sweets for long a journey and air fresheners).i suppose there is the problem that if it's unlocked, you can also press the start button... :hehe:
How is this different from a regular key? Most cars don't lock when you walk away, though I wouldn't be surprised if this is added. We have remote unlock/lock, which requires you to press a button. We have keyless (smart) keys, which will unlock when you get close or touch a handle. The latter often allow the car to be started if the key is in your pocket. Great when it's really cold outside and you're bundled up.
However, if the battery is dead, you can often only unlock one door with a spare key. Some can't even unlock other doors from inside or in the trunk. Those are fundamental issues for me, both convenience and safety.
Mine will lock the door when I walk away with the fob in my pocket, and then the people in the car are UNABLE to open the doors from the inside. that one freaks me out a little.

Sorry to hear about that. We've got a 15 year old, and an old 12 year old. Suspect sometime the next couple years we'll have some rough days.

Sorry for your loss. My daughter went through that on Monday taking one of the cats to the vets (16 year old). She stayed with her until the end. She said it didn't feel right letting them take her into the back. She wanted Snowball to know she wasn't alone, someone who loved her was with her. I don't know if I could do that.

Many years ago I was asked by a neighbour to accompany their aging German Shepherd for her final visit to the vet. I didn't know the dog well but even then it was tough. For what it's worth, to those who need to know this, it really did seem like she was falling asleep in my arms.
