Are the posted questions getting worse?

This is totally off topic but man I really hate contract developers sometimes.

Good thing that starting this week I'm no longer a contractor but a FTE. 😀

I gave myself enough wiggle with "sometimes" that I can easily add good folks like yourself to the list of people I would exclude from my hate list. 😀

Well, congratulations Luis.  Well done.  Are you still in Atlanta?  Just as importantly, do you enjoy it, both the job and area?

Thank you, Ed. I'm still in Atlanta. Enjoying more the area than the job, but it's still a good place to work.

Heh... not me.  I keep it simple.  I wake up every morning hating everyone and then I make exceptions. 😉  If you speak to me before my 2nd 12oz cup o' joe, then there's no chance for you for the day.

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.

  • The "Like post" thing is strange here. I saw a question that was really pretty bad but somebody had liked it. I was curious who could have possibly liked it. Now apparently I have also liked and there is no way to "unlike" it.

Click the Like button again.  It'll inform you that you've already liked the post and give you a "Delete My Like" button in the lower-left corner of the div.

And yeah, the Like thing has changed a lot.  I think people are hitting like on 8-year old posts to get the point.  The Posts versus Reputation is very different that what it once was.

Reminds me of a guy I used to work with, many years ago.
I once asked him - "How do you manage to upset so many people in one day?".
His answer - "I get up early".

Yeah, I've stopped caring about points.
Getting to 50k points was an achievement, since the change though I've relatively few posts and, well...

Yeah the points mean even less than they used to.

Did your wife get to join you yet?

Yes, she's been with me for over a year straight now. Previously she came and go back due to family issues.

No, it was real.  Jeff and I got to meet Luis while he was in town for a while and attended a couple of local PASS chapter meetings.  It was a genuine pleasure to get to meet a fellow Threadizen and someone who gets it in SQL.
