That is, the stability of the stool would be good enough to sit on without falling off or hurting yourself, but not as good as a 3/4 legged stool.

Even a 1-legged stool can be stable when used properly. My father was born in a farm, and his father (my grandfather) and his brothers would all use a 1-legged stool when milking the cows. I found an article about it on the Dutch Wikipedia: https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melkkruk
    (No English version available, apparently)

I heard of the use of a 1-legged stool used in manufacturing. It's meant to be used by people with repetitive tasks that would bore them to sleep. The stool would keep them concentrated to avoid falling.

    Sean:

    Still yet to see Primus.
Bob Mould (Sugar) is a legend I see Copper Blue was re-issued for Record Store Day.

There are few ex musicians in the sql community , I wonder what the connection is? Must be a sign of the times - computer club / music club type of thing!

Neil - cool, It looks like I may miss this tour, pity as its their most proggy album (!). Hoping for some last minute production tickets, I've got a few tickets like that recently due to working all over the place. Tickets that are held back for band, family, friends and the venue staff. Not always used, but they only put them up for sale really close (sometimes the day of the gig) to the gig.
Yet to see Elbow as well.

    Rodders...

Yeah the first time I saw Bob Mould was with Husker Du around 84-85. Not sure what the connection is but there do seem to be quite a few musicians around.

Neil - glad to hear I am not the only former bass player with some chances to open for some pretty big acts. Of course with the bands I opened for nobody knew who they were at that point in time, unlike opening for Elbow. That must have been pretty cool. I think the largest crowd I ever played was maybe in front of ~1,000 or so. Nothing like the crowd you probably had for Elbow.

Not just ex-musicians, either...   Don't you just hate it when rehearsal footage leaks online? And they didn't get my best side.  πŸ˜‰

But the computer / music linkage is strong - I know quite a few hardcore design/programming/sysadmin types who are also really rather good musicians.  One friend is a rather good horn player by night and a ASIC designer by day; another is a very handy cellist / ATC systems bod.  And I look forward to playing with them both again in the summer.

I will certainly give that a shot. I don't like seasoning or rubs with much (or any) salt. Since salt dehydrates it is better that the user decide at what point in the cooking process to start pulling the water to the surface.

No such luck actually.  This was waaaay back when they were still doing clubs and pubs.  They actually went to the same school and 6th form college as I did and this was a college gig that they'd been invited to play when they were starting to make a name around Bury.  It was the back room of a grotty rock club and I could name 50% of the crowd!
Sadly, I just can't get into Elbow.  They're talented guys and very good at what they do but what they do isn't my cup of tea.  I kind of feel like I should like them, being local lads (literally drinking in my local) but I just can't do it.

Ahh yeah so much the same as many of the bands I opened for. They later became huge names but at the time it was in a smokey bar with nobody there. I agree about Elbow...not anything I can get into but certainly have some respect for their talent. So many bands I feel that way about.

The above is all just my opinion on what you should do.Β
As with all advice you find on a random internet forum - you shouldn't blindly follow it.Β  Always test on a test server to see if there is negative side effects before making changes to live!
I recommend you NEVER run "random code" you found online on any system you care about UNLESS you understand and can verify the code OR you don't care if the code trashes your system.
