Are the posted questions getting worse?

A new low...  a new user, rather than posting a topic on one of the boards here, sent me a T-SQL question via PM...

    *sigh*

Just today to get through before SQLBits.  Anyone else from here going to be there?

Not this year, got enough new stuff on my plate for a few months: getting to grips with configuring and troubleshooting transactional replication.
It's new to me, I'm a dev. One of the reasons I signed up as a permy with this company - the ample opportunities to learn (and own) aspects of SQL Server which I wouldn't normally get close to.

Too bad Chris, seeing as I've managed to not meet up with you when I've popped into London!
    have fun with replication

    Rodders...

We'll get those beers in one day Rodders, probably with the Icelandic reprobate in tow. I look forward to it 🙂

    Haha, indeed...
Talking of, he's being very quiet at the moment 😀

    Rodders...

For shame - I'm sure you would have had ample opportunities to learn replication stuff from some of the others there.

But understandable.  And good luck with it!  Maybe next year...

There is a relatively simple solution... just leave your PM mailbox full.

I just send them back my bill rates for consulting and tell them if they prefer not to pay those rates they can post a forum question. 😉

    --EDIT--
Sometime this new forum software is really buggy. When posting the cursor jumped above Wayne's post. Now I can't get the cursor back there to fix the missing quote.

The other bizarre thing I have noticed is that sometimes it puts the cursor before the last character which is unbelievably strange and annoying.

I get the same thing with the cursor sometimes and yes, it's very annoying.  The other thing is that before you type anything, the cursor's in the correct position.  As soon as you type your first character, it inserts a new line before the first character you type.  Yes, it's a minor thing...just annoying.

I have noticed a quote bug here or there as well. Trying to just quote a specific line from the last person in the thread is wonky at best as well.
