Snorting Bourbon sounds incredibly painful. I expect it would have the desired result, but you can't drive afterwards (primarily because you can't see :-D).

In Orlando this week for Live360. Leaving this afternoon, and it's 18F at home. Didn't bring a coat, and couldn't wear a long sleeve this morning since it's a 80F mile walk from the hotel to the convention center. At least I have a hat for the trip to my car in Denver.
We just missed each other. I landed in Orlando that morning. We probably nearly crossed paths in the airport.

Do you have Vick's First Defence (First Defense ;-)) nasal spray over there? I find it quite good- not sure how scientific it is, but my theory is that it works by creating a seriously hostile environment in your sinuses, so nothing can get established there. It burrrns.
I don't recall seeing it. I'll check but I doubt I'll use it. Zicam has been poo-pooed by the local health establishment because nasal zinc applications burn out one's sense of smell. With my allergies, I already have problems so I tend to avoid something that will lessen what little sense of smell I have left. If Vicks First Defence has a similar ingredient list, I'll probably avoid it also.

Apparently, Eirikur has the crystal ball.
It took me a couple of harsh posts to make the OP confess and demonstrate Eirikur's statement.

Does any else think that this response borders on being unethical? http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/FindPost1842475.aspx It sounds like she wants to use this approach just to avoid due diligence.

I'd say that she's trying to make The One Column instead of having to do full out schema changes in the future.

There are instances when making a table long and narrow work much better than making it wide and flat. We do similar things in our data store. Such as a "buckets" table that allows us to define all the buckets in one place with a bucket ID for each name. This makes our reporting joins so much faster as all we have to do is add in the new bucket name instead of hit schema changes on about 15 tables.

Me: "OK, I'll do it. You don't have to keep reminding me every 6 months!"
Unfortunately the wife and I don't always find the same things funny. :ermm:

For me it's, 'will you do this please Neil?'
'Of course I will Mrs B, anything for you dear' (or words to that effect).
'Have you done it yet?'

Not many truly know just how scary old man Fred Phelps was and his whole clan better than I do. I grew up in Topeka right across the street from their compound. They were some seriously odd ducks in the 70s but not outwardly scary like they have been for the last 20 years or so. Many people have heard of the rainbow house right across the street and some of you undoubtedly heard of the transgender house next door. Here is a new article discussing the transgender house and the future plans for it. As I said I grew up in this neighborhood. In fact, the window that you can see in the picture right behind the guys left ear was my bedroom window until the start of 8th grade. π
