So I was just asked by someone to help try to level a sign on a message board here...
He's trying to eyeball it while his co-worker adjusts the sign (probably a 4ft long sign, the board and sign Velcro together)
I take a quick look, pull out my cell phone, hold it against the top of the board at one end of the sign, then down to the other end to check and done...
Then I double check it with my work cell phone (slightly wider phone,) and it's as close to level as it's going to get without someone bringing in a level.
Sometimes, you just need to think outside the box and improvise.

What, no spirit level app on your phone? eg Smart Tools for Android?
I am not a spammer. Honest. I eat a lot of spam, but that's another problem...

Ok, I think I might be going crazy but I've never seem to have any issues with html encoding when posting code before. However, for some reason I'm now getting '& gt;' rather than '>'.EDIT: LOL...well I've had to put a space in since apparently it works fine here.
...but in a code block

Just put the code tags on separate lines.
Thanks Luis, that worked. Still something funky with the behavior of the site though. It will properly display under 'my posts' but not in the thread.

When that happens, I stop working.

Hi guys, is anyone willing (and kind enough) to review a post I am doing on SQL Memory? Basically I want to talk about total vs target and show how it translates to perfmon and what happens if I change settings etc... I am 90% sure what I have done is correct, but if I mess this up I will look a bit of a wolly....
Full credit will be given in the article.

Send it over. I just can't guarantee that I'll get it done before Pass Summit.

AHH sorry Eirikur - just seen your reply too (already replied to Gail). Thanks for offering though. You have always been kind to me.

Now this sounds like it has an interesting story behind it...

I'm the guy who helped a developer send porn to our client list (I didn't clean up prod data before supplying it to the dev team, a lot of very long meetings followed).

That's about the whole story. I was supplying production data to the devs, as per usual. We didn't have a policy in place to clean the data first and it was early in my career as a DBA. Said developer had a sense of humor. He was testing email automation through one of our apps and used the email addresses in the database. He sent a porn picture as his test. Insane, long-*** meetings followed. Huzzah!

Well accidents do happen like forgetting to cleanse the data. But sending porn through the company email system, even as a joke, is wholly inexcusable. That would be grounds for instant termination in any company I have worked for. I can only imagine the meetings afterwards and the communications sent to your customers/clients. :w00t:

I thought it might be something simple like that, but it sounded like it could be an interesting story...
