I have been making bacon like that for years...never knew it had a name. Another great way is to put a liberal amount of brown sugar on top of the raw bacon and bake them on a sheet pan. Super sticky but holy cow is it tasty.

Yeah we bake it on a sheet pan too. You should try the Pecan-Rosemary. You'll never look at a BLT sandwich the same way again.

That does sound good. Of course it will challenging fro any BLT to rival the behemoth found at Crown Candy in St. Louis. It is only $9 but man is it under priced. Check out some pics of it....https://www.google.com/search?q=crown+candy+blt&biw=1920&bih=914&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwie_4bL9ILPAhUIJ5oKHSr9AvIQ_AUICCgB

I can only imagine if it had the pecan-rosemary bacon on it. :w00t::w00t::w00t:

What timing. Fishing with the guys all this week, and it's usually a couple pounds of bacon per day.

I am more than ready to get on the road.

Wow you catch that much bacon when fishing... I must be using the wrong bait :w00t:

  • Grant, Gianluca, Steve and whoever else was at SQL Sat Cambridge. Hope you all had a great time.

Pity I couldn't make it, but I had other plans on Saturday :O

Gail, how goes your marathon of presenting at SQL Sats? Have you done them all or do you still have one left?

    Cheers,

    Rodders...

Two down, one to go (and a seminar at a local university)

And, heaven help me, there's talk about adding SQLSaturday Port Elizabeth to the sequence next year.

  • It was a good event. I especially enjoyed how Mark took advantage of the space and created little mini-cons for people in small rooms that wouldn't otherwise get used. I need to write it up as a PASS blog post. I think others ought to emulate it.

  • Well, I'm back and things seem to still be working.

SAL Sat Cambridge was fun, and good to see a few people from the Thread there. Sorry you weren't there, Rodney.

  • Anyone willing to share general stats on their blogs. ( Or is this a rude request??!)

I have received 1000 views within the past 6 months which is poor ( but expected as Im quite new).. I am just trying to understand the sort of view hit the elite bloggers get... i.e. the MVPs / MCMs of this world. I'm guessing you guys hit many many many thousands over the month??

  • ~300-500 per day, except weekends.

iirc I suggested ignoring blog stats initially...

wow amazing figures. Yep I should ignore it, I just use it to confirm that I get at least "some" views. Makes me a little happy that I get between 10-30 views a post....:w00t:

thanks for sharing your view number.

I'm sure at least 1% of your traffic is me repeatedly reading your 'CATCH ALL QUERIES' post 😀

  • My last blog was posted August 31, and now has 3817 views.

The post before that was from June 25, and is now up to 7848 views.

Since my blog is on the sqlblog.com site, I think I get a lot of "free" traffic from people who read all posts on that side.

On the other hand, my very irregular posting pattern (e.g., no posts at all between Nov 6, 2014 and June 25, 2016) probably hurts my numbers a lot.
