So I come in this morning to find a passel o' notification emails on this thread and the first thing I think is "Oh, noes. What has The Donald done now?!?!"
And then I see a Brexit meme pic and find myself sighing in relief. I guess I'll actually read all the posts now. @=)

Now Wales are after independence from England to 'safeguard' their future...despite the fact that they also voted in favour of Brexit :w00t:
Being part Welsh myself, I thought that Wales always wanted to be free from "those damn Brits". Or am I misunderstanding that situation as American folklore?

It's hard to know, it's definitely a "local place for local people" the further in you get...I'm quite close to the border and all the Welsh people I know are quite laidback and happy to go with the flow.
I could understand if they didn't like us. We do treat them like a joke sometimes.

I *think* they (not all of them) specifically dislike the English, rather than all Brits. I don't actually know why; cultural hegemony maybe.

You know, now that you mention it, I do believe you might be right and I misspoke when using the word "Brits". English and Brits aren't the same thing, are they?
On another note, reading yet another article about post-Brexit fallout, I see this line "“This is going to be Boris versus ‘stop Boris,’” Travers said"
and read it as “This is going to be Boris versus Rocky & Bullwinkle,” Travers said."

In the Venn diagram of the UK, all English people are British, but not all British people are English :-D. One of the best way to wind up Scots is to call them English (or say "Hey, my friend lives in London. Maybe you know him?")

And funnily enough, I have both Irish and Scottish in me too. But no English that I know of. @=)

Calling them 'Scotch' also works a treat, in my experience.
The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence

The absence of consumable DDL, sample data and desired results is, however, evidence of the absence of my response

So, I'm thinking if we get enough takers, we might be able to make a run at buying Taravai
Close enough to another island with an airstrip, so we'd have a way to get back for things like Summit, etc, big enough we can spread out and not have to share a single house...
Who's with me?
I might even be able to get the wife on board with this!
