Dang, now I want sliders for lunch...

6 sliders, order of fries, order of deep-fried mozzarella sticks, large Coke...

Not sure where in the dirty mitten you reside but have you ever had Bate's in Livonia or Hunter House in Birmingham? My preference is Bate's, they serve up some of the best sliders around - puts White Castle to shame.

    Clinton Township area.

So Livonia is a bit of a drive for sliders, Birmingham isn't so bad, might look at going that way with the wife one weekend for lunch...

Your mentioning Union Woodshop has me wanting to go out that way again for lunch. We've been there once, just haven't managed to get back since.

I've had Bates and they're okay...for sliders. I haven't had Hunter House before. I know someone who lives in Clarkston and she says the Union is one of the best restaurants in the city. BTW, I work in Bloomfield Hills.

If you ever get to the "D" in Las Vegas, check out the tenderloin sliders on the appetizer menu in the Chicago Brewery.

Half price during happy hour, and good micro brew too.

I am seeing a lot of training events recently and I am wondering, If level 300 is intermediate level, level 400 is advanced, then what is level 500? Superman level?

500 is 'have the debugger open before you start' type session. It's 'expert' level. Not many people teach them (they're very hard work). Bob Ward does a level 500 every PASS summit, Adam Machanic often does one, Paul Randal sometimes does one (on the DB engine side, that is)

I disagree with the debugger comment. Yes, that's what Bob Ward does. It doesn't have to be that way.

Level 500 means that the intended audience has several years of experience, and that very deep and advanced subject matter is covered. It can be done in the Bob Ward way that makes your head almost literally explode if you are not at that level yourself, but it does not need to. Both Adam and Paul are excellent at taking very advanced and deep knowledge and explaining it at a level where it is (relatively) easy to follow. In the few level-500 sessions I have in my portfolio, my main goal (**) is to make sure that people who feel comfortable in a level-300 session will also be able to follow along. "Take a hard subject, then try to explain it in a way that makes it easy".

(**) I'll let others be the judge on whether or not I succeed in that objective.

Old threads are much better than old QoDs, those should expire like any pint of milk.

Why are people still using SQL-89 style joins?

Heh... because you can't do anything else in a correlated sub-query including WHERE EXISTS? Because they're a real nice shortcut for CROSS JOINs?
