Gail and I are gamely persevering with this one. I think my pressure limit has been reached now, though.I constantly avoid that person's threads. It doesn't matter if it seems like a simple problem, the lack of common sense is great on this one.
Usually, so do I. But this time ... it all seemed so simple. Will I ever learn?
You probably will. The alternative is to carry on trying to get him/her to be sensible until it drives you insane.
But that person apparently won't learn. "won't" as in "will not" in it's old literal sense, not in it's modern sense (ie he apparently isn't willing to learn). I stopped finding him amusing a long time ago, he clearly can't be bothered to think about what he's saying or make any attempt to understand the answers.

Thank you. That all made me feel so much better.
Good.
And the number one reason for this person not being paid:
S/he is an INTERN getting university credit while working at <insert notorious software vendor name here> on a government account!
(FTR - several vendors popped to mind long before thinking of the big blue machine)
Well, before anything blue one would surely have red and white, and red and black and white, and a lot more other colours. I'm not sure which would come first though.

Well it's lunch time, so
Lentil, chicken, bacon and feta salad(also contains cucumber, spring onion and pepperdew)
Had to look up pepperdew, sounds good. Breakfast time here, blueberry muffin at my desk.
Same thing here. My dad insisted I take one as I was leaving for work. Yes, I am now living with my dad instead of my youngest daughter and ex-wife.

Good morning, peeps. What are we having for breakfast today?
Mine was oatmeal with purple honey (from North Carolina) and assorted fruit. But for some reason I have pancakes and waffles with real maple syrup on my mind and I can't figure out why. So I'm pre-emptively accusing someone on The Thread of having the Good Stuff for breakfast and making me hungry again.
Mine was eggs, bacon, sausages, beans, tomatoes, hash browns, bread, orange juice, lemon, and green tea. Heavy breakfast today as I didn't have much time to eat yesterday. But what I was yearning for was crowdie with blaeberries and cream, which I haven't had since last time I was in Seattle (in 1999) and don't know anywhere less than 450 miles drive from here where I can get it (and it'so long since I've been there maybe it isn't there any more). Oce every few months I get a longing for it, but I never do anything about getting it.
I would have been perfectly happy on a lighter breakfast instead of that pile of stuff despite being hungry. It's a pity that decent Scottish breakfasts (of which there are a great number of different types) are being driven out by the English fry-up even in much of Scotland (although at least one can get decent Lorne sausage instead of English crud).

Crowdie's very easy to make, Tom - and tastes wonderful when it's freshly made. Ullapool, camping, many years ago; I watched the crofter's wife make it.

MET-Rx bar and coffee. More of the latter than the former.

Man, I'm glad lunch is soon, just waiting for the guy who was running out and picking up Sliders to get back...
Mmmm, White Castle hamburgers, cheese sticks (fried,) fries, and a large Coke...

When you someone points you to an excellent solution, why would you reinvent the wheel using a much more inefficient method and then try to defend it?

Waffles with the real stuff was Saturday.
If you are ever coming to Minnesota in the spring, get in touch.
My cousin actually started making syrup.
You could probably take part.
Would you expect wages with custom labels?
Depends on how much work. For a couple of days, probably not as I could finagle a "writing research" expense on my taxes.
I actually have a planned book with a character that taps for syrup. But internet research only gets one so far.
So did your internet research cover dissipating the foam by stirring with a pine bough?
Work depends on the sap flow. Right conditions, if you tap a lot of trees, it can keep you hopping.
The boiling is much more laid back.
Quality control - the best job. Seems smiling kids like that job the most.
Test often is the rule.
Done this with 50 gallon cast iron kettle over open fire, and more modern guttered tray over open fire or propane burner.
Older method is more laid back, but takes longer.
The tray with open fire takes a bit more finesse to keep the temp right.
Depending on the weather, it can be somewhat boom or bust.
So goes the work.

I am right there with you Luis. I refuse to even comment on one their threads. The level of sheer incompetence, unwillingness to attempt to think or learn, and the overall level of anger that we can't read their mind is beyond reproach. There are plenty of other people out there who actually need help because they are trying to figure it out and are willing to work at it.
No way to tell for sure, but this 'poster' may be a group login. Maybe 'outsourcers' who follow a checklist and when they can't figure something out, they go to the nearest forum for help. That would explain why this "person" never seems to get more knowledgeable.
