Now, that's a great idea. I'm not sure if I should get the workstation or pay rent and buy food. I guess I can keep working the way I've been doing it until today. 😀

Bah. Rent and food are overrated.

Wait. It's almost lunchtime... Maybe it's only rent that's overrated.

Quick question: I got the standard email saying that someone replied to a comment on one of the forum threads but when I go to that thread the comment is not there. I commented last at like 11:50PMish... then I have two emails saying they replied at 2:09AM and 2:30AM but when I check the thread my comment is the last one.

Just weird, something I have not seen before.

I've seen this and it is usually a post by someone who has been "banned". They still get to post but it gets removed.

  • Okay, my daughter and I are in Providence, RI. We were scheduled to do campus visit at Johnson & Wales University this morning but they called yesterday to cancel that tour and rescheduled it to tomorrow due to the snow they were expecting last night and this morning. We laughed at this this morning as what they got wouldn't even have delayed school back home.

But here we are not knowing what to do today. Any suggestions?

Does Providence have a zoo? You might also check to see if Hasbro does daily tours.

Drive down and look at the mansions in Newport. It's pretty near by. If you're walking, check out all the Lovecraft locations in Providence. I'm sure there are maps online for the location of many of the houses that were the basis for some parts of some stories.

Haha. Thanks - that makes sense - I've seen that before.

Nah the zoo would be closed to due to the mass quantities of snow.:-D

Having lived in Northern Ontario I always found it humorous hearing about closures/cancellations for so little snow. The reality is though there is a huge spike in accidents in areas that are not used to dealing with snow. That being said I would have thought Rhode Island has seen it's share of the white stuff.

If you know what a block heater is than you have definitely learned how to drive in snow. 😉

... or if you have driven around with a few bags of kitty litter in your trunk.

I've grown up in Chicago and we generally don't cancel stuff due to snow unless there is so much that your door won't open.

It used to be that way in Michigan as well, but nowadays everyone seems like they're petrified of any amount snow. The sensationalizing by the news certainly doesn't help.

It isn't like Rhode Island is near Atlanta or anything. When we drove down to Florida a few weeks ago, the freeways through Atlanta were fine. But it was near freezing, so they had trucks out putting brine down on the road and a police blockage behind them slowing everybody down. Granted, most people in Atlanta don't know how to drive in snow, but this wasn't necessary to begin with because there was no snow.
