Back in the late 80's early 90's when mix tapes were the thing I had a War Games themed mix tape. I actually still have the record which has lots of audio from the movie. Made for a great mix tape as it progressed through the whole store with musical interludes between scenes. Ahh mix tapes...sometimes I miss those days of a full 90 minute mix that you can just rinse and repeat endlessly with the auto-reverse. 😛You are dating yourself... but I, too, fondly remember making mix tapes, especially making them for that special someone at that time. Used quite a few songs from soundtracks - Pretty in Pink, Breakfast Club, Valley Girl, The Lost Boys, Less Than Zero...
One of my other favorites from that time was the War of the Worlds. I have a vinyl reproduction of the original radio show which also made a great mix tape. I always liked the story ones. Made the songs far more relevant as you had to work to find songs appropriate for the story.

My father listened to the original radio broadcast of the War of the Worlds and would tell that story over and over.

The original from 1938 or the radio remake in 1968? 😀

I was just thinking about re-watching Wargames. Just went through Spaceballs while on the treadmill and it brought back memories. That's one of those movies that I have seen hundreds of times and still watch it again if I'm flipping through the channels.
+1
Add Tron to that list.

If you enjoy the 80s, I might recommend Ready Player One as a read. Lots of memories in there.

Thanks Steve, just read some reviews and the author interview, sounds like a good read. Should probably buy it before heading out to Utah (Park City/Canyons) next week and get some reading in.

Thirded. It was a great one. I had my own copy and then got another in loot crate a few months ago so I have two copies now.

Yeah... but I'm better looking and, if I lay on my back, I'm two inches taller, as well. 😉
