He's asking MySQL questions on a SQL Server site and appears to be about at the level of spelling 'SQL'. I won't be surprised if he asks "What's a backup?"

I fear the force is weak in this one.

I'm sorry. I will go and meditate immediately.

After 4 days of teaching university grads basic SQL, probably more hibernate than meditate.

What comes next? The sequel? 😀

Time to run and hide!!! :w00t:

Ouch, this looks a little bit painful

And probably more fetal position with thumbsucking than hibernating.

They weren't that bad. Had some attitude from a couple of them initially, it went away after the first day, after they realised I'd taught more in 5 hours than they'd learned in their university database course of 5 weeks. 🙁

Well hope they understand how lucky they are! I remember my Database course at University, it had too much theory - tuples, Codd, 3NF VS XNF etc. When we got to triggers that's when a select few got interested for a while.... lord knows why!

  • Well, I have finally seen the new Star Wars movie and I would like to thank those that kept quiet. But I have to say, if I was to cynically guess at a plot for it I would have been about 95% there. The other 5% was interesting. Although lovely to watch and I'm glad I saw it, it was rather predictable.

At the end scene I did think to myself "I'd have parked at the top of those steps - that's a long walk up". But I'm old, and such things would occur to me.

Did anybody else notice that in the end credits there are two 'Voice Consultants' for BB-8? That had to be a cushy job - shared.

And to change the subject completely - I'm glad the next Liverpool SQLBits isn't at the previous Liverpool location - http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/liverpools-adelphi-hotel-handed-zero-10712141. It was grim at the time and doesn't appear to have improved.

  • I'm also very glad that SQL Bits is not at the Adephi. That was an odd few days last time. A hotel that was once grand but no longer.

I see both Edinburgh and Cambridge have now gone live on the SQL Saturday Upcoming Events. Still no sign of Manchester though!

Sad news about Alan Rickman, saw it as I was popping out for lunch. Stopped in my tracks.

Oh no Steve is in the UK next week :O

Superfoods, will be treating myself to a strawberry, raspberry, banana & orange juice drink later...

Not just Steve. I'm going to make an attempt to sneak onto your lovely little island too.

  • So that's SQL Bits sorted out, I think.

Wonder if Ramsey scored a goal yesterday?

No, but it seems that George R. R. Martin wrote the script for this year.

A friend of mine described it as "all fur coat and no knickers". Seemed about right. And nice to see the staff living up to the Liverpudlian stereotype.

    Exeter too. \o/

Yup. Typical, really. He visits Red Gate the week after I do...
