Continuing my role as the harbinger of death, Ziggy Stardust is no more.

One of my favorite songs. Although Bauhaus actually did it better.

One I heard today I really like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1PbHXMJJ-dY

My song for the evening: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KaOC9danxNo

as said elsewhere on the internet...maybe he wrote his own epitaph?

It seems that Aaron Ramsey did it again[/url].

There was talk about this on the news this morning. He knew the end was near when he recorded this. If I'm not mistaken, the album was released on Friday.

Ahhh, rest in peace Mr. Bowie. Such a fascinating person and he left this world too soon.

I see more and more famous people from my youth passing on. It must mean I'm getting old. I'm not anywhere near it yet, but 69 is just too young.

Bowie probably didn't have the most healthy lifestyle in his youth. Neither did Lemmy.

I know I certainly didn't either. Then again, I didn't have their type of money, so I couldn't get too out of hand. The one who flies in the face of that is Ozzy. I think he may be preserved by modern chemistry. ;-)[/quote

What about Keith Richards? He may have partied harder than all of them and he's still around.

The chemicals have acted as a preservative for Keith Richards. Same thing as an Egyptian mummy, except his organs were not removed.

Yeah, you hit the nail on the head there. He's probably also into the "being preserved" state.

I guess Joe Walsh is safe too. He's was well pickled many years ago. 😀

  • As a teen of the 80's, Bowie's death really hit home. His 80's music pushed me to explore his earlier works. A fascinating entertainer.

Something I didn't know, he was one of the first white artists to appear on Soul Train.

  • Another death, actor Alan Rickman (of Professor Snape and Die Hard fame) died at the age of 69 - oddly the same age as David Bowie. This may serve as a warning to celebrities of age 69...

And cancer is to blame once more. Too much death around right now.

If I were 69, I'd be hitting the treadmill and eating raw vegetables.

Now that's sad. I think he was one of the best characters from the whole Harry Potter film series. Also a good actor all the way around.

Agreed about too much death, but I don't know about the treadmill. It can lead to heart attacks. I try to avoid them.

    Well that sucks.

At least it wasn't me that announced it for once. Maybe the mantle has passed.
