Continuing my role as the harbinger of death, Ziggy Stardust is no more.
One of my favorite songs. Although Bauhaus actually did it better.

First Lemmy, now Bowie.

There are several million wordpress blogs that use mysql in that figure. I wonder how many of the SQL Express installs are considered?
Who uses SQL Express (Windows Stack) over the LAMP stack? I mean come on now. :hehe:

Ahhh, rest in peace Mr. Bowie. Such a fascinating person and he left this world too soon.

I see more and more famous people from my youth passing on. It must mean I'm getting old. I'm not anywhere near it yet, but 69 is just too young.

Bowie probably didn't have the most healthy lifestyle in his youth. Neither did Lemmy.

With that I am off to my son's school. He is in the spelling bee again this year. I think he is the only student in his grade to make the spelling bee all 3 years he is eligible. Here's hoping he doesn't go out on an easy word again this year. In third grade he was 5th overall in the school. Last year he went out early by misspelling "domestic". I just want him to relax and enjoy the ride while doing the best he can.Enjoy. Hard to get kids to relax, but hopefully you get some great memories. My son barely remembers 5th grade GeoBee and he went to state, but he remembers enjoying it.
Bummer!!! The principal was the emcee and for the most part she doesn't have any of the Midwestern accent (it really is pretty sparse in Eastern Kansas) but my son's second word was "length". He was of course a bit nervous and didn't look at her when she said his word. The first couple of rounds are pretty simple words designed to help the kids relax but she pronounced it with a long i sound instead of the long a sound. The sound quality in the gymnasium doesn't help the situation either. So my son was a bit shocked at how easy his word and properly spelled the word he heard "link".
I am guessing he won't forget this and will listen to his parents at middle school. We told him to always look at the person saying the word for visual clues and always ask for a definition even if you don't need to make sure you going to spell the correct word.

I know I certainly didn't either. Then again, I didn't have their type of money, so I couldn't get too out of hand. The one who flies in the face of that is Ozzy. I think he may be preserved by modern chemistry. 😉

And Lemmy never changed his lifestyle. At least Bowie cleaned up his act....well somewhat anyway.

We're off to a bad start, but let's hope that 2016 isn't quite so bad for rock heroes as was 2015 (reference)
