Here's my QOTD:
If it is Christmas, but you don't celebrate, does the tannenbaum still sing carols to the yule log during the Hanukkah code camp?

now that depends upon the value specified for the 62nd parameter to DBCC TIMEWARP.

It is hard to tell if the spammers or IWasBornReady clutters up the feed more. So many useless comments on QOTD from 10 years ago.
I know what you mean. I saw that earlier this morning and posted a response, but I doubt he'll get it.

I have sent him a couple PM's in the past that if he wants to add to the discussion even for old QOTD that is great but pointless comments like "great question" to a QOTD that is several years old is just silly. He responded that he was sorry he flooded the forum but continued. Apparently they just want some points or really enjoy seeing their name on the internet. Oh well. It is certainly less annoying than spammers. 😀

This reminded me of last week. The family was at Disney and on the counter at the hotel was a menorah. My 7 year old looked at and immediately said "look daddy, there is a harmonica". I almost died laughing. 😀

Only if the 47th optional parameter is set to a value other than null.

Well, I didn't shoot anything lately, but I spent 3 days with my kid on the Space coast.
As a bonus, we were standing on the causeway in Port Canaveral Mon night and saw Space X launch, and land, the Falcon rocket. That was amazing.
Shot video, which doesn't do it justice, but we could clearly see the rocket above the flame, well barely.

It seems that everyone in this thread spends their spare time shooting things :exclamationmark::-DIt's better stress relief than choking developers.
I find that people have a better chance of learning if they aren't choked too often.
"It Depends". I've found that if you squeeze the pork chop you rammed down their throat between your thumbs, they get real interested in what you say.

Here's my QOTD:If it is Christmas, but you don't celebrate, does the tannenbaum still sing carols to the yule log during the Hanukkah code camp?
There's only an answer to that if you ignore the self-contradiction. The Hanukkah code camp can't be held with celebrating, because Hanukkah is nothing other than the celebration of the miracle of the oil (aka the celebration of the lights or the ceelbration of the [re]dedication[ of the temple]). But ignoring that:-
It depends on how many children there are at the camp. If there are a lot of them, the answer is likely to be "No", because you've had to cut down the tannenbaum in order to make enough sevivon for all those the children to play dreidel with. With fewer children you don't need as many tops so the tannenbaum is not cut down and can happily sing s'vivon sov sov sov to the yule log (provided of course that the yule log hasn't been convered into tops; and actually it's usually the children who sing it, not the tree, but...) - does that count as a carol?
I think the suggestions made by some that parameters of dbcc timewarp are involved are based on a misunderstanding of the occassion when the DBAs at camp cut down the tannenbaum AFTER the 8TH day of Hanukkah, making spinning tops with it, and then use DBCC TIMEWARP to carry them back to the 1ST day of Hanukkah so that the children can have both sevivon and tannenbaum that year. I can't remember when that will have happened, maybe it already has.

OK, who here has created a "spoof" stored procedure so they can make it look like they're calling DBCC TIMEWARP in their code? Maybe calling it DBCC_TIMEWARP or something so it actually can do something...
:hehe:

Banks seem to be capable of doing date math, I've for instance seen interests paid early

I'm not sure that's capable. More just "able".
Or just it's doing some math, related or not.
