Ah, what worries have I...
To go for a nice, relaxing massage after work, or to burn off some stress punching holes in paper with high-velocity pieces of lead...
Decisions, decisions, decisions...
And the wife is no help.
She just says "OK" when I list my options...;-)

Why not combine your two options? Get a massage at the range!!

Ooo! A new business opportunity! A pistol / rifle range / shop with an attached spa / massage place! The gents can visit the range while their wives / girlfriends get pampered (or vice-versa, I see almost as many women at the range I go to as men.)
Hmm, it would need some serious sound-proofing around the spa area to damp out the sounds from the range...

I wouldn't try to combine them at the same time. I certainly enjoy both, but I think a deep tissue massage would throw off my aim.

That's why you go to the range first, then the massage...

I remember going to a shotgun session up in Scotland and boy the next day I couldn't move! Arms were like jelly.

I think that's something most people don't realize, guns are heavier than they look...
I've got a pistol that unloaded could be used for bicep curls, it's probably close to 4.5lbs unloaded. Try holding that at arms length for any length of time...

In shooting, just like in databases, technique matters. 😉
Jason, 4.5 lbs empty...my first guess would have to be a Desert Eagle.

And your first guess would be correct!
Really fun gun to take to the range. It's almost funny going from shooting the .50AE Eagle and then switching to my 9mm. The 9mm feels like I'm shooting a .22 pistol at that point...
Had some fun one time, the range officer asked what I was shooting, told him I was going from one extreme to another, starting with .50AE then switching over to my .22LR pistol. He got a chuckle out of that.

There aren't too many handguns I know of that are that heavy when empty. And yeah, I can see how going from a .50 to a 9mm would feel like a pellet gun. You might not even notice the .22!
I got to see a .338 Lapua this past summer at the range I belong to. There were the normal sounds, but when this thing went off it sounded like a small cannon. The owner wasn't in the military or anything; he just enjoyed shooting it. I can't say as I blame him.

My next "bucket list" gun to buy is a rather large one...
Barrett M82A1 in .50BMG...
Fun part is, the indoor (!!!) range I go to is rated and *ALLOWS* up to that caliber...
It'll be so much fun to start setting up one of those beasts and watching the other shooters when they realize what's coming...

It's better stress relief than choking developers.
Like today. We had a proc that deleted and archived records on a nightly basis. Well, it hasn't done anything for about a year because they changed the logic. The main table that needs to be deleted is now about 85 GB.
I re-wrote it and took out the cursor. Added a few parms to delete rows in batches of 10000, and stop after 30 minutes. In my testing, the entire delete ran in about 90 minutes. Each batch took 30 seconds. So, it would take a few days to get caught up.
The devs do not understand EXISTS, so they changed it to IN. They ran it in dev (thankfully) to test. After 13 hours, it filled the log.
So, like normal, I was the guy in the parade that follows the horses and cleans up the crap.

Stopped at a local gun range and asked if they had a gun safety course. They proceeded to tell me about the concealed carry course.
I would like to look into target shooting but just do not want all the hassle of gun ownership. I guess I can look at rentals at the range....
