The quote here should be the same as it is for any busy DBA....

"Stop it Yoda! Get OFF! Osha has declared that if one more person rides my a$$, I have to install handrails!"

Nice, Sean. Welcome back. From your disposition, it sounds like you had fun. Not too rainy, I hope?

Nope. It only rained a couple of times for a really short period. The first round of rain lasted about 10 minutes or so while we were in a show so we totally missed it. The only other rain period happened when we went back to the hotel for an hour or so one afternoon so the kids (err...maybe daddy) could take a nap. It was heatwave though. Most days it was around 85 degrees (celsius) and humidity of course near the 200% mark.

The Star Wars stuff was awesome. Had a character meet and greet with Chewie and Darth Vader. Lots of stromtroopers walking around "on patrol" and plenty of jawas scattered about.

Here is Lord Vader making sure I inform him if I hear any information regarding the plans.

Looks like they're predicting up around 50F on Monday, though...

Still cool, but not like what we've got right now...

Still downright balmy for mid-December. 🙂

    True that.

I want my 3ft of snow that dropped overnight so they close the office the next day...

    :hehe:

  • The way things go around here this week and next, I think they should just make it official...

Starting 7 working days before X-Mas, each day you take one hour off the number of hours people have to work...

So by the day before the holiday, you come in for about 2hrs and head out to enjoy the holiday with family and friends (or if you're a procrastinator, shopping for gifts...)

So if they make it official, would it match what already happens at your office?

It'd be close, it'd be close...

Fewer and fewer people here as it gets closer to the holiday, and the ones who are here (even to some extent myself) get slower and slower...

I'm much more in favor of the "Come in late and leave early to make up for it" policy. 😀
