Seeing as that's only a short hop down the M62 for me I've really got no excuse this time.

In other news, here is the start to Alex Yates session at SQL Sat Southampton last weekend...
Nice cameo from Grant!
Sorry it's out of focus at the start, first time I had used the camera for video... I now know what I should have done.
You can hear Chris Telsa O'Neil in the back ground...

One of the things I like about my current company and boss is that they understand that I have a life outside of work. For example, boss asked once if the 2pm meeting could be moved to 4:30PM. I told him that I was leaving at 4 because I had something on at 5pm and it was about 30 min drive away. He didn't argue, just asked for a good time for the next day. When organising business trips to Cape Town earlier this year, he asked suggested flying to CT on the Sunday and back Wednesday evening. Told him I had roleplaying Monday evening. So he suggested flying down Tuesday and back Saturday.
My bosses are also pretty good about it, but this is one of those audit (next week is our "pre-audit,") that if we don't get a pass on it, we'd have to potentially shut down until we get things fixed and do pass.
Needless to say, that would not sit well with a lot of people...
My servers are just one part of the whole shebang, so at least it's not all on me, although if it's anything like another audit we went through about a year back, mine are weighted "heavier" than the other servers, so I'm probably going to spend next week with an auditor at my desk.
And won't *that* be loads of fun?

Well that's annoying, really wanted to attend for the whole event, but would have the miss the Saturday due to holiday.
Would be ideal also as its local.

Hopefully that's a better venue than the previous Liverpool SQLBits.
Registered for the Saturday, because it doesn't cost anything. I'll have to leave asking my employer for the other days until I've started working for them (move jobs next month).
Found a DBA T-shirt I might get for the occasion - http://www.shotdeadinthehead.com/explain-t-shirt.html.

That is beautiful. The sad thing would be the people who don't get it.

Once again, SQL Bits has been announced and I have other commitments that week that I really can't get out of.
Pity they can't seem to stabilise the date of this thing.

Pretty sure that changing the location every single time probably prevents setting a strict schedule.
