And now for something completely different...I think the guy on the right, in the red Hawaiian shirt, might be Steve...

Sorry, got snippy with an OP.50 lashes with a noodle please.
I didn't think it was that snippy. I wouldn't have given them the code though. 😀

Touche. I suppose I could have looked at the topics you've participated in. Or are there others I'm not thinking of?

Shouldn't that be 2/7?

Would some one else please take this one, I really don't think I should touch this one. Wouldn't be surprised if the OP didn't know the database was using full recovery model until the disk ran out of space.

Along with the answer to a persistently "lazy" person, it might be nice to put out a resource you can send them to that goes over the expectation we have.
I want to make teaching the teachable moment as easy as possible.

There are several of those around.
Here is one from this site. http://www.sqlservercentral.com/articles/Best+Practices/61537/. This one can be found in many signature on this site (including mine). 🙂
Another that Gianluca posted on his blog. http://spaghettidba.com/2015/04/24/how-to-post-a-t-sql-question-on-a-public-forum/
And here is another that really takes it to another level (only really usable for the super lazy ones). http://weblogs.sqlteam.com/jeffs/archive/2008/05/13/question-needed-not-answer.aspx

So I would recommend after the 2nd or 3rd question that seems lazy for the reply to be:
-------------------------------------------------------
You are asking a question that could be looked up easily with an internet search.

I disagree with implementing a "all of us frequent posters use X dialogue to respond" kind of policy. It's okay if some people want to do that, but we don't want to turn ourselves into Stack Overflow. In fact, we work very hard to be approachable, even if some people are unteachable.

Okay, but after dealing with the thousandth lazy OP question let us know how this goes. Trust us, we have made observations like this in numerous posts. Sometimes we just snap, a little bit, and get a little snarky in our replies. Some times we'll post a lmgtfy link. But that doesn't stop us from still trying to help as many people that really want the help.
