    Great picture!

It was fantastic meeting you guys!

BTW, Wayne is as tall as me, so he's the giant 🙂

Yeah but he's 6 inches taller than you if he lays down. 😛

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.

Kind of reminds me of the talk at the breakfast table at a buddies cabin after leaf cleanup.

One of the guys had a piece of bacon (and some other scraps) not make it to his lap.

He started talking about going golfing later, but might need to pack a lunch.

Mike told him to just check his bib.

Then Rick goes 'it gives a whole new meaning to food shelf'.

Ralphie looks down, then sees several snacks on the 'shelf'.

Good thing we all have a sense of humor.

I think most men who are "of a certain age" have that sense of humor. I know I do. 😉

It was awesome to get to meet some of the denizens of The Thread last week. Too bad Jeff Moden wasn't able to be there this year.

I also was able to meet SQL Know It All during the new comer meeting.

I was also amazed at the some of the people that I meet that actually new my name when I was introduced.

I am hoping to be able attend again next year.

And a big thanks to Jack for putting me for the week.

You could always right click on the image and open it in a new tab. That should resize it to fit the screen.

  • Really good summit.

    My lasting memories will be;

The Threadizens taking over one of the birds of a feather tables (don't tell anyone), and the photo!

Gail's hat for ArgenisWithOutBorders - I have photos I will start up loading tomorrow or Wednesday once I get home... Slight detour to Birmingham... As you do... Oh OK just me then!

Meeting the legend that is Lynn Pettis and having a really good chat with him.

Rob Farley knowing who I was!

Seeing and chatting to Kalen Delaney at least once each day... I think I have only met her 2 or 3 times before. Rob had to tell her who I was - So a double whammy in one go, who know Rob knew my name hehe...

The 'Escalator incident' - Grant knows all about that

Who knew there was instruction needed on proper escalator operation? I'll submit an abstract for the next Summit.

  • Going to PASS is on my list of objectives but due to lack of company interest in me I cant afford it as I have decided to go to IE2 instead, but I am still very curious about it. Can someone tell me what the difference is between Pre-Conference Sessions & "normal" Conference Sessions ??

Pre-cons are one day training days. Separate from the main conference, run on the Monday and Tuesday. You pick and pay for one each day (if you fancy doing one from each day). Attend that. You should get the materials for that session. The pre-cons are not on the conference recordings you buy. Generally speaking more in depth coverage on a subject.

Regular sessions are the 60, 75, 180 minute conference sessions. You pay for the 3 days, pick and choose as you go along.

Or if you are really organised you pick that days sessions you want to attend over breakfast !

These are (with a couple of exceptions) what is included on the USB / download of the conference.
