Would someone with more knowledge of indexing please pop by this thread and add their expertise to the conversation.

It appears the OP is quite pleased with your answer.

Well, at least we know who has the crystal ball. 😉

  • Looks like I am going to get thrown into the deep end on some blocking issues with our main product. Having been working in relatively stable environments with little deadlocking ever occurring this is new territory. Started to dig into some while in Afghanistan, even have some code from Wayne and Jason to start working with on it. If anyone as additional resources that you can point me to I would greatly appreciate it.

Some of the work may end up being done in a secure lab which means I won't be able to share much.

Then you should have everything you need, right? :w00t:

Just remember that when it comes to deadlocks, this is your friend. (Or is that fiend?)

  • I think I need an intervention...

I keep going back to the "Jet" topic, it's like watching a train wreck and I can't stop...

Absolutely NO intention of posting and feeding the troll, though...

Completely unrelated to that, found out why my new lab server was as loud as it was. It was rather displeased that when I hooked it up for testing, I only connected one power supply, rather than both. Once I hooked up both (after racking it) it works out to be no louder than, and possibly quieter than, the other 4U I've got that's a home-built...

Avoiding the troll and getting to the real topic...

Congratulations, Jason. I'm glad to hear you have your home server up and no longer sounding like it was ready to take off and head into orbit. And you didn't have to spend any more money to do it. 🙂 Peace in the home once again.

    Good gosh. That's still going?

I lost interest when the OP wouldn't respond to questions he didn't like. I unsubscribed.

BTW, I was sharing the whole thought process with several people last week while at DevConnections. It was hilarious.

You're probably right. I guess it depends on how well-fed Lynn has kept the hippo.
