Please tell me it's not just me who saw the title of today's editorial and immediately replied mentally with 'yes, you're a good developer.'

Growing up is hard to do...

    Now that's funny right there.

Question: Difference between 32 bit and 64 bit?

    Answer: 32 bits.

    😀

Well, it's true. 😉 There may be a bit more to it than that, but it's still true.

I was recently asked in person "I got the error 'The profile name is not valid'. Could you explain what it means?" :w00t: I explained that it means that the profile name was not valid. 😛

Question: Difference between 32 bit and 64 bit?

That and the shift to 32 bits didn't break anything like the shift to 64 bits. 😛

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.

Quite right - I should have known that. I don't know if I'm ready to fully use all 42 states of a bit yet.

If you can't use all 42 states of a bit, then you definitely should not have possession of the keys to DBCC TIMEWARP(). Relinquish them now, Sir.

  • I forgot how much *FUN* it is to open up a shiny new (well, used in this case) server to poke about the guts and see what's there...

    /swoon

Brought my new toy home last night, perused the guts a little, started figuring out what it's going to be set up with and do in my home lab.

Had to order the rack rails and drive caddies for it, but those were cheap (caddies >$10/ea, rails are refurbs and less than $30) and should arrive next week. Now tonight I need to hook a monitor, keyboard up to it, and fire it up just to verify it's working (which it should be, it was sold as working.)

Maybe tonight I'll even put up some pics of it, some "server porn" for those into that sort of thing...

    :hehe:

Is this the first server you have in your rack? You know, you're going to have to start thinking about a KVM switch soon.
