Are the posted questions getting worse?

  • Ed: Yeah, plus I copy my scripts up to a network DBA share so the other DBAs have easy access to them, so those I wasn't too concerned about.

Koen: If only we used roaming profiles here... Although, I'd probably get blacklisted for having a rather large profile, Explorer reports it as around 25GB or so (I tend to not purge docs very often...)

It's called taking back-ups and version management! 😀

Make me wonder ... how much should I routinely copy/backup from my user profile to my OneDrive, just in case Windows 8.1 or 10 screws up? Last time I checked, I had 10.1 TB available on OneDrive so that's plenty of space.

Another funny one today. Provided a DMV and a link to the documentation. I was asked "Is that real?"

Nope. Just faked out the entire MSDN web site to pull a prank.

Maybe I've been on the forums too much.

Shall we get started on the MSDN page for DBCC TimeWarp? 😀

Someone should write up an April Fools article for SSC on the benefits of DBCC TimeWarp especially when the flux capacitor is pre-wet with some form of beer.

You have a bit over 6 months. Submit it mid-March 😉

And if that's the case, the article was due 3 days ago next week.

Clearly it's not being used correctly (maybe not being used at all) or I would be able to find the article on this website.

Incidentally, isn't mid March 2017 a rather early submission date for 28th dec 2015 publication if the tool is used correctly in the review and accept process?

Yeah, that's pretty much my family's kind of humor. Still, I find the whole thing very fascinating.

  • Got a request for the SQL Server monsters.

I'm working on the first draft of the final chapter of the complete rewrite on the execution plans book (HUZZAH!).

It's on 3rd Party tools and Execution Plans.

I have SQL Sentry Plan Explorer, Supratimas, SSMS Tools Pack.

Are there any others that you know of?

You've covered the one I use - Plan Explorer. I haven't heard of any others not on your list.
