I hope the OP wasn't serious!!!! :w00t:http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic1712315-2799-1.aspx
You are WRONG, Sir! Case has absolutely EVERYTHING to do with the way things work. If we didn't have all caps, we couldn't get anyone's attention on the interwebs at all. They'd think we were just speaking normally and all that. @=)
EDIT: Plus all caps tells SQL we'll get really mad at it if it doesn't go faster. π
π
As far as my comment/joke about font is concerned, it reminded me of a joke I often make ...
If you have problems with big data, why not use a smaller font? π
Where do some of these people come from? Better yet, what are they being taught?

The amazing part is that this same poster was in charge of a 2005 to 2012 migration. :w00t:

Now that's just plain scary. Alvin's joke, however, is great. I'm going to use that one day. π

Yes - I agree.
It must be used some day.

Good initial analysis of the bomb blast detonated in a busy area of Bangkok: What Do We Know About Bangkokβs Deadly Blast?
No casualties amongst people I know. My thoughts and prayers are with those that were though.
Too bad that initial speculation is not focusing too closely on the timing. There were some obvious connections in stuff I read yesterday about the political situation, but I won't say what.
My thought question: Have you ever been told that your query runs too fast?
My advice:
INDEXing a poor-performing query is like putting sugar on cat food. Yeah, it probably tastes better but are you sure you want to eat it?
The path of least resistance can be a slippery slope. Take care that fixing your fixes of fixes doesn't snowball and end up costing you more than fixing the root cause would have in the first place.
Need to UNPIVOT? Why not CROSS APPLY VALUES instead?

There are usually connections (both obvious and not) that exist with events like this. In the US, the media usually just skips them altogether and they don't even get a passing reference.

Heh... since it's for XML...Trying to put my finger on this, just cannot find which kind of XML phobia is plaguing you Jeff:Whistling:, so far I've checked these
π
No... not a phobia unless you consider it to be Emetophobia  because of the resources that XML wastes across the board. π No... it's a genuine hatred on all fronts.
There was me thinking that from Erikur's list it would be a combination of cacophobia, paralipophobia, dementophobia and phalacrophobia, because most XML is extremely ugly, not discouraging the team from using it is irresponsible, and the awfulness of having to deal with XML would risk driving you insane and having you tear your hear out, thus becoming bald (which is where the phalacrophobia gets a look in).
Of course Erikur's list doesn't include the word askopeskatalephobia which, if your attitude were a phobia, would be the right word ("fear of pointless wastefulness"). But perhaps the correct word is really askopeskataleechthra ("hatred of pointless wastefullness") which is the cause of my dislike for most use of XML.
Perhaps Erikur lesft that one out of his list because it's not really English, just a bunch of Greek slug together with no regard for grammar (like most of the words on his list).

I'm not looking forward to September. One flight to Cape Town for SQLSaturday Cape Town, one flight to Durban for SQLSaturday Durban (first event in that city), one flight to Cape Town (two weeks after the first) to present at SAICSIT 2015
And somewhere in the middle of that I have to get work done. π
