I just love university logic.
They send my student card by courier. They send request for guest count for grad via SMS and email.
They send the document telling me my final mark and letting me know I have 3 weeks to deliver the final printed copies of the dissertation by post, and only by post.
And for the people living in the first world, that would be the SA postal service which was on strike for ~6 months last year and haven't got much faster since.

And in breaking news...The thread is about to turn 50,000.
Let the countdown begin.
Am I missing something? Page header says 49730 posts.
I know we like countdowns, but counting down 270 posts is a bit much.
(or is the count toast since the posts disappeared back when?)

...wondered that myself...*edit - aha, figured it out. Steve modified the header counts so he can be the one to get the 50,000th post.

Thing is, I never received the letter. I only know about it because my thesis adviser found a copy in his pigeonhole, scanned it and emailed it to me.

Indeed. The deadline for the final copies is next Sat, the binding process takes 3 working days and I'm away from home until Monday.
Fortunately I had an almost final copy of the dissertation in pdf and a trial version of Acrobat was sufficient to make the couple outstanding changes and the place doing the printing is happy to receive a 25MB pdf file via email.

270 is tiny for a mark as big as 50k.
And if those posts are still missing from the count, we are welllllllll beyond 50k now.
