Gotta love it when someone schedules a software change/update at month end. Because "there's no impact to the business" and all that.<headdesk>
This too I will survive.
I hope.
What's wrong with doing a software change at month end if there's no impact to the business? π
π
No impact? I think most of the problems come with thinking that there is "no impact" from changes.

Wondering what you all would say if you were presented with a NoSQL system being developed for all your data and were told "It isn't meant to be ACID"
Do you understand what ACID is? Are you OK with data issues from concurrency issues or rollbacks?
I'd like that in writing, please.

...it may not be ACID but now it's turning acetic

Need an Answer? Actually, No ... You Need a Question

Just a thought, but don't you love your job when:
a) you observe your systems for a while, then make one small change that improves performance significantly and massively reduces the load on the servers.
2) you reduce the outages/faults by 100%
3) you tune the most expensive queries and the execution time drops from 10+ hours to less than 10 seconds.
as I said, just a thought:-), please share if you have similar experience!

I don't know how things are done in the US, but here 75% is the threshold for a degree to be awarded "With Distinction"
