Foxboro? Ok, that's not a bad word, I just dislike the NFL team that plays there.

  • I read this article last week about Friday Afternoon Fraud. Then today I hear that people are starting to hit up business in the U.S. with a similar (or same) tactic. Vishing for passwords and such.

    So, you know, be careful.

Also for Jason, Brandie and anyone else who like the idea of Relay but can't make it this for what ever reason, especially if you would like to speak - wrong time of year, travel etc, leave your comments and I'll pass them on to the gang running it. They are a good bunch!

    Rodders...

For me it is timing. Crossing the pond in October means more time for a really busy month as it is. November for me would have been easier this year. But in perspective - I think it is generally just tough to try and fit such a huge thing in with sooooo many events around Europe and the States already as it is.

So personally, while disappointed in the timing of it this year (would love to speak), I am certainly not going to complain about it.

Another thing to do in Seattle...of course the NW is known for having lots of microbreweries but what often goes unmentioned is that many of them also make their own rootbeer. Most of the local bars (not the big chain places) carry at least one of the local rootbeers on tap. If those are available at whatever watering hole you are in make sure to try one. The rootbeers around there are amazing!!!

The blackberries up there are amazing too. Nom Nom Nom.

Heh... how ironic. I'm actually working on a LastName function that has a bit of a performance issue.

    Jason I completely understand.

But they are always looking for new / different speakers - and the format is a little different, so getting people over for it is always good. Two years ago it coincided with a trip Denny Cherry was making so he did a whole week of the "tour" - it was 2 weeks of 5 that year. They learnt that 4 days per week is enough.

So if they know there is interest from speakers from outside the UK and they have options for when it is next year, then you never know.

But at the summit we have to get you and Brandie - Brandie you are going to the summit? - to meet Alex. Part of the organisers or Relay and he is coming to his first Summit πŸ™‚

Hey Brandie, you are still on my "bucket list" of people to meet in person from the SSC. And based on the disaster that was trying to meet Jack at my first summit. Quite literally ten minutes before I was leaving the party on the Thursday.... Then I bump into him almost straightaway last year on the Sunday...

We'll need to sort out something!

Just thought that would also apply to Lynn πŸ™‚

I tried beer from a few local microbreweries (different ones each time I went there) until I gave it up as a dead loss and decided Seattle wasn't a good place for beer. Haven't been there since 1999 though, and it may have improved since then.

What is that image? I am confused. (Wont be the first time)

Essentially? It is a giant penis in a clam shell (basically salt water clams). Called geoducks or "gooey ducks", they bury themselves in the sand. During mating season, they extend their organ into the air and spray out. Somehow, this fertilizes the female of their species. I saw this all on an episode of Dirty Jobs once. It was very interesting.

Anyway, they are a delicacy in the Northwest.
