Not only are the question's quality deteriorating but the responses to the answers are too😎
Ouch.
Wow - that's pretty serious. They're only focused on how to accomplish something, not what they want to accomplish. I've never seen one quite like that before.
Welcome to the real world Ed:-D
😎
I've seen plenty of times where people don't listen to or don't like the approach, but I don't think I've ever seen one where the OP was more focused on HOW to do something and not WHAT they wanted to do. I must have just not hit the right posts until now.
The table structure must be a secret. People are trying to figure out that table. In fact, the NSA wishes they knew about that table. 😉
Complements on the effort Ed, but this is one of these times when the MindReader bricks, inside sources have notified me that NSA[/url] no longer can afford to monitor that thread, to much Guessing power needed:-P

I'm beginning to wonder if Celko knows that we can't see the posts he is writing? Nothing like getting an email saying he responded to a thread I am active in to see nothing from him.

I think he's just experimenting and hasn't told anyone.
he he, just like my youngest said yesterday, "I told everyone but I did not tell them that it was a secret!"

I was actually able to read that rant. I guess the posts are created and deleted instead of completely preventing them. That makes me think that he actually reads his own posts.

Well, at least he's found someone to whom he makes sense and his posts are productive. 😛

I'll probably be looking to get new kittens/cats later this year. My Siamese died late May, completely unexpected, out of the blue. One day she was fine, next day very sick, 2 days later dead.
My remaining one seems to be getting pretty lonely.

That's some stress reduction. I have two of my own. A 13 year old Calico named Miracle and a 6 year old grey named Awesome.
What have you named your new buddies?
-SQLBill
The shelter named them Dora and Diego, but we don't think we'll keep those names. We're waiting for the kittens to do something that names themselves.
Although, given the way they wrestle, we're thinking of finding some luchadore names for them. Or maybe Dora will become Luchadora. @=)
If you're looking names, you could always use "(el) Santo" which is the most famous Mexican wrestler who had great success in the ring and the movies as he starred 52 films.

Same reasoning my wife gave when she convinced me to get another cat. Guess what...they don't even like each other.

Do any cats actually like any other living thing??? Or did you mean your wife and the cat don't like each other? 😉

LOL...I meant the two cats don't get along. I think the problem is when the other cat died the other was fairly mature (11 yrs). Don't think they like making friends anymore, so she wasn't too receptive to a new cat coming into her domain.

They remind me of our first two cats, Jenny and Tiger. Jenny is more grey than black, and while not of the same litter they were of the same mother one litter apart. They became fast friends. Alas, Tiger is no longer with us. He's been gone nearly four years now and it never ceases to amaze me how much the little beasties can be missed, even now.
<sensitive-moment>Sniff</sensitive-moment>
My thought question: Have you ever been told that your query runs too fast?
My advice:
INDEXing a poor-performing query is like putting sugar on cat food. Yeah, it probably tastes better but are you sure you want to eat it?
The path of least resistance can be a slippery slope. Take care that fixing your fixes of fixes doesn't snowball and end up costing you more than fixing the root cause would have in the first place.
