Sorry to interrupt but I was wondering if I write up an article on using performance dashboards in SQL via a central / single view if someone could proof read it? I would appreciate it very much.
Sure, send it my way.

I'm looking for a replacement for an 80gb iPod classic. I want something on which I can hold all my music and because that's approaching the 80gb mark getting another iPod isn't really a solution. It's annoying because as much as dislike Apple products in general, the iPod Classic at least allowed me to carry an 800+ CD collection in my pocket with the minimum of hassle. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Has anyone ever heard about "disk unformating?" Did not know if you formatted your hard drive you could undo it. Maybe if you imaged it first.

Lynn, you mean without the use of a big magnet? π
Can't say I heard of it.

Someone suggested that an OP "unformat" his drive to recover his lost database after he had reformatted his drive on his PC.

I suppose that you could create an unformatted partition for the disk or simply deallocate all the space. I'm not sure what are you referring to.
Also, a disk corruption might seem like a disk was unformatted thanks to the misleading Windows errors.

I'm not sure if software to "undelete" would work on a reformatted drive.

Also, has anyone placed an order for silver spoons? Looks like we have a higher than normal demand.

Some like Vogon might be able to help if the format doesn't do a full zero out. Nosebleedingly expensively though.

Undoing the disk formatting is the same as deleting the volume, sometimes needed when aligning the disk to specific I/O patterns or changing file system/configurations, otherwise it does not make sense.

Disk unformatting is not that hard. Use DBCC TimeWarp with the correct value for parameter 83. π

Yeah, and it's been going on for a while. I think Steve should start ordering them by the case. π

No worries, just placed an order of a substantial quantity, got them cheap as they are plated and made of cobolt and old mainframe parts:-P
