Are the posted questions getting worse?

    Again...

    AAARRARARRGGGGHHHH!!!

Sometimes, I just wonder why any of us even try. Reams of good advice from multiple people. All of it ignored. Apply a random query hint. Things are a little better. WIN!

That's the difference between wanting to understand the problem and fix it versus wanting to apply a band aid so it'll go away for now.

Heh... there's a recent article on Simple-Talk that said "there are no idiot developers". They said that they're just "ignorant" (as in uninformed). This is positive proof that's incorrect. 🙂

First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.

Please rip that band-aid off slowly.

The reason people like you try is for people like me who went into this knowing nothing and using your answers to add to my body of knowledge so that years later, I could pretend I was good enough to be a people like you.

    Just sayin'.

If it's the one I'm thinking of, I hit that stage this morning, but didn't have time to post a detailed reply.

That reminds me of the famous RTFM directive, popularized years ago. The document I had was in the classical MSDN format with links to the suicide prevention hotline, directions on how to quit your job and basic instructions on how to breathe.

I know telling someone that won't help because people won't do it. It didn't help much back then and it helps even less now. I think people have gotten lazier over time.
