Back on topic for a moment.Maybe I'm in a weird head-space at the moment, but it seems like the questions have gotten... not worse, but weirder. Sort of off the wall, no?
Meaning my QotDs?
No, I mean the forum questions. Jeez, I'm the paranoid one, not you.

Catching up after a few days away...
I would buy the X5. BMWs are great cars and even old ones (mine is 6 year old) look like new. The engine is virtually everlasting, the chassis is extremely good and allows great handling. No vibrations in the dashboard (this one drives me crazy: n.1 reason for me to change car!) and good materials overall.
Lexus makes solid quality cars, but they tend to age worse than german cars. I think they use slightly inferior materials, but I could be wrong. The engines are great as well.
@Koen:
Huge congrats man! You deserve it!
@Brandie:
I'm planning to go to PASS too. Good luck with your boss! BTW, does anybody know the dates for PASS 2015?

Boy, it seems like my questions are getting worse lately. Taking a beating in the QoD.Don't worry about it. Some people just have to nitpick everything.
Too many folks view QoD as a points-acquisition opportunity as opposed to the learning opportunity that it is, and whine at the most obscure ambiguities. Anyway, there are more nuggets to be found in the discussion of a disputed QoD than one that isn't.

I'm with you. There have been several the last few days that I've opened the thread, read the question, closed the browser window.

Congratulations Koen! When I grow up I want to be like you. :hehe:Action figures will soon be available! 😎
With or without superhero capes?
Edna Mode
No capes!...
Do you remember Thunderhead? Tall, storm powers? Nice man, good with kids.
...
November 15th of '58! All was well, another day saved, when... his cape snagged on a missile fin!
...
Stratogale! April 23rd, '57! Cape caught in a jet turbine!
...
Metaman, express elevator! Dynaguy, snagged on takeoff! Splashdown, sucked into a vortex!
...
No capes!
And yet it was a cape that saved the day (and Jack-Jack). @=)

Agreed. There are those that whine about everything they don't understand as well as a way of making excuses for getting something wrong. Well, when you can admit you don't know something to yourself, that's when you're open to learning something new. If you have to make a bunch of excuses and blame others for getting something wrong, you won't learn anything.

No worries, and I'd tend to agree with you after having a few German cars. However I drove a '99 Lexus with 324k miles on it. That was impressive. It drove well and the interior/exterior looked really good.
I need to drive a few more, but the X5 and RX350 are high on my list

I am having a discussion with somebody who swears that using
EXISTS(select 1
is way faster than just select *. I know Gail has an article on her blog but I can't find it (a search feature on there would be so helpful). Anybody know where such an article disproving that myth can be found? My google-fu is being elusive today.
