Well, this is shaping up to be an interesting winter here in North America...

Not even the end of November, and already we've got here in Detroit, Michigan, about 1/2" of snow on the ground...

    Usually it's raining around now...

Buffalo, New York has already gotten as much snow this week as they would get in a "normal" year (about 100 inches of snow) and there's more coming down...

Time to put my sporty car in the garage and buy one of these:

    πŸ˜€

Make that two. I'd be happy to test drive one for the winter. Does it come with a "support staff" to man the back? I presume that's where we deal with metro Detroit drivers? πŸ˜€

Bah, I'd say let the dummies slide into the back, the worst that happens is they scrape some of the paint of the tail-gate...

I was talking about the people to man the M60 in the back to deal with metro Detroit traffic. Do you take I-696? If so, you know exactly what I mean.

Nah, 696 is manageable with AR15s...

Now, the Southfield, for the Southfield you need forward and rearward facing 120mm cannons...

    πŸ˜€

You're right about the Southfield. For 696, you have a lot of cars to move.

Not a single Star Wars reference? I'm surprised.

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.

Not sure what went wrong this weekend. The spam process should kill everything within an hour, so I've asked to track down what's going on.

    Hi Steve,

Instead of deleting spam every hour, a better approach could be to scan a post before coming active on the thread. When a human is behind the spam (as you say) he/she could stop when seeing none of his posts are making it to the forum.

The scanning can cause lots of delays for legitimate posts, which we don't want. That's, IMHO, worse than spam appearing.

The spammers aren't likely humans submitting post after post, but registering and then using an automated process to post. We get far, far too many posts for them to be manually entered. I'm also not sure they care about which ones appear.

  • Good luck to Koen (I voted for you), but please don't game the system with multiple votes from something like InPrivate Browsing.

It's just a crappy way to treat these things. If you want someone to win, then spread the word, and vote once a day.

Can't see it being suitable for a gathering, somehow. Certainly if Jeff Moden's invited,

  • Now that is just too funny - a bar called R-Bar. Jeff would have to bring the industrial pork chop launcher and spike the pork chops with high explosives. Thank you both for sharing. Having a laugh on a Friday is always good.

  • Well Jeff would have to employ GBAG (Glass By Agonizing Glass) or get an Overflow Exception πŸ˜€

It's great that the window shades all had RBAR on them, adding to the problem of RBAR.

  • Totally out of context.

If anyone of you have heard about what has been happening in Mexico these last few days. Would you mind sharing it with me by PM? I'd like to know if it's really having international relevance.

    Thank you.
