Are the posted questions getting worse?

The upside is the end of the list should be approaching fast. 😀

    He's up to 2007. 🙁

Oh no. I assumed he must be working backwards.

You're right, he is. There is hope... Only 4 more years of questions to go.

I never knew the questions went back that far. You know, the way you phrased your comment gave me an idea. I wonder what would be involved in writing a daily maintenance procedure that would lock QOTD threads where the most recent post is more than 3 months old? That step could be part of the job that auto-detects and kill spam threads. I know I can't write it...just thinking out loud.

It seems he has changed his username now. What a complete tool.

Steve, btw, I didn't even get a T-shirt for the first time past 40 000. (Hint, hint, hint)

I must re-read the Elric novels some time.

those are great. Found a few of the paper books 4-5 years ago and gave them to my son. He enjoyed them.

Yes, and he'll run out of questions soon and then disappear. We see this regularly where someone goes back and answers lots of older question and jump up there for a few weeks

I saw that the other day. Congratulations Gail, on being the first to attain the rank of SSC Forever...for the second time.

And yes, you should get a T-shirt. Wait, that would be two T-shirts. 😉

As if regular spam wasn't annoying enough, one particalar user is now "spamming" the recent posts view with QotD threads...

That has been going on for a couple of weeks. I commented about it awhile back myself. The worst part is the obvious efforts to accumulate points is wasted by useless comments like "Thanks for the question." for QOTD that are 6-7 years old. The upside is the end of the list should be approaching fast. 😀

I just ran into one and couldn't resist. He's posting comments in response to his own comments. http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic420391-34-1.aspx?Update=1.

Well, now we have 3 five word comments (two of them identical) within a few minutes on another 7 year old question. So far today he has posted at least 7 comments on very old questions, and one on a pretty new question (but not today's question, of course) and changed his Nickname at least once (perhaps to try to obfuscate his "spamming").

I don't mind people reviving discussions that have gone quiet for a few years; I've done it myself when I've had something useful to say, and quite often got responses from people who started or contributed to the earlier discussions. But I don't post five or six word esentially pointless comments on ancient material, and it annoys me intensely when someone does that. Most of the comments that I've see from this person in the last couple of weeks have been a waste of space - "thanks for the question" for a very recent question is fair enough, but for a 7 year old question it's pointless. I think only one of his posts has contained anything technical.

Wouldn't that be the first and the second person to attain the rank of SSC Forever?

Yes, but that's only because most of the regular posters are in negative points because of the thread crash.
