Someone said beer I swear...Nicest beer this week was Blue Moon wheat beer from Denver, CO, purchased from Sainsbury's, Reading, UK.
My sister-in-law is crazy about that stuff. Can't stand beer myself, more of a whisky/scotch kind of guy.
Nothing wrong with both beer and a good scotch. Preferably some incredibly hoppy IPA or ESB and some Scapa.... mmmm... Oh, look at the time. The sun just went below the yard-arm somewhere on the planet.
Hmm... Depth Charges for anyone? Today's shaping up just right for it....

Your lack of planning does not constitute an emergency on my part...unless you're my manager...or a director and above...or a really loud-spoken end-user..All right - what was my emergency again?

Pack meeting is going to be cancelled tonight (apparently it's going to snow in New England, shocker). I think it's the right kind of weather to break out the scotch and a copy of John Carpenter's The Thing, kick back and drink with MacReady.

A bunch of the white stuff in Chicago too, with more coming this weekend. Maybe a rum, coke and Wii sort of adventure........

I'll stick to beer in my beer, no wheat, fruit, chocolate, etc. In fact, I had a very nice Corona with my brother-in-law to be last night.
It's too late for pack meetings now! Supposed to be done by last Friday :

Belgians... They get a couple of things right (double, triple, & saison (very right)) and then go & screw it all up with Lambic's.
Oh no .... not the Lambic with the fruit (Kriek = cherry,...)
I'll have the straight Geuze

Nope. Last one was supposed to be tonight. I'm cancelling and it'll be tomorrow night. That leaves the PineWood Derby and the Blue & Gold after which I will be DONE as Cub Master. WOO HOO!
Then of course, I move on to Assistant Scoutmaster with the Troop. Lots of camping and hiking, which will be really cool.

Me too! Though we'll miss the Pinewood Derby :(, due to a skiing vacation. However we've got 15 pins, perhaps 1 or 2 more, and ready to move on to Boy Scouts.

Good luck in that position. I spent 7 years as a Scoutmaster with a troop of 60 boys, and watched 8 or them achieve the Eagle Scout rank. Do not know who was prouder, the boys and their parents or myself. In summary found it to be a very, very rewarding experience.

Thanks. I'm really looking forward to it. Mainly because I'll get to do cool stuff too, but seeing the guys reach beyond themselves and achieve things makes all the pain-in-the-tucas parts of the job easier to take.

I've never been involved in scouting, but I have about 10 years of coaching various sports from youth to High School and I agree that it is very rewarding to see kids grow up both athletically and socially through the years. I never enjoyed anything more than when I had a player or team finally "get it".

Amen. I've coached my daughter's grammer school basketball team for the last six years (don't know that I could coach the boys!). To see them overcome the mental blocks and beating a conference rival who has had our number for so long was absolutely incredible. They finally "got it"! But win or lose, as long as they were having fun and giving their best, I was (and am) so very proud of them The only sadness is they now disperse to various high schools in the city and we'll only have the memories. I am trying to organize a league at one of the parks so that we can continue but that's a bit of an uphill battle.
