Cafe du Monde in the French Quarter? Probably a few miles as the crow flies. I'd take a cab.
First thing she told me this morning was they walked there for breakfast.
Guess the walking justified the caloric intake.

You were supposed to let that play out. Let jc worry that he was the JC you were talking about.

Eirikur, Thanks for helping with WC. Now I am waiting for him to have more problems when he moves the encrypted data to another database and then can't decrypt it to read it.
Then again, it looks like his problems have hit earlier than I thought. Pretty sure what he isn't doing but I think I'll go eat instead. The DFAC is only open for another hour.
He figured it out. It was what I was thinking as well. Should give him a gold star for solving one, but I'll hold off for now.

You can't go to New Orleans without visiting Cafe du Monde. Just don't sneeze or cough when eating these things.

Hate asking a technical question in the thread, but I can't find the answer online and no-one is responding to my post so I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction.
Does the SQL Server memory grant process allocate 1 gig or 4000 bytes for an nvarchar(max)? Either is a problem, but they're different kinds of problems.

When you encounter a problem, if the solution isn't readily evident go back to the start and check your assumptions.

I feel your pain. I was following the thread and honestly tried to help, but it was starting to drive me crazy. Even after I said that a simple update will do it, he posted the question several more times. I eventually unsubscribed from that thread so I don't go completely nuts. I need to learn to be more calm and patient.

Must admit it smells of an executive stakeholders meeting, one does all the talk, answers all questions, only to get the same questions repeated in several different flavours π

Sadly I will not. I need to find a way to get to one though. It is a large chunk of change for me to have to fork over, I know my company won't shell out that kind of money for me to go.
That's where volunteerism pays off. Volunteer at your local PASS Chapter (start one if you don't have one nearby) or for the Summit Program Committee and you have a good opportunity to get a decent discount on registration. Then get someone to split a room with you and it really isn't that expensive. I attended last year's Summit on my own dime and it cost me like $600 because of being a PASS volunteer & finding someone to bunk with. I also don't drink so that saves me a ton of money as well.
Winner Winner on that one.
There are some that will probably double their cost due to the amount they will drink during the week.
Knew some guys in college who got gigs as the house band on a cruise ship, 2nd week out the manager was passing out paychecks, asked the bass player for money back to cover his bar tab. (D'oh!)
