Anyone think they can help this person? I think they really need it, and what's more, deserve it. 6.5? Please, no.

6.5 to 2000 with DTS. Ouch.

    Stone knives and bear skins.

Hand-cranked mechanical calculating engines carved from wood.

    Isn't that bcp?

    😎

Nono, BCP is from before the wheel, so they couldn't create the crank. It's just a giant lever over a boulder. There's still a particular Neaderthal or two around here who say it's still the bestest thingie... 😛

I think you have a typo there.

They say PCP is the bestest thingie.

Nope Lynn, I was particularly nudging a single individual with that. 😎

Jason, that's not the Neanderthal's, PCP didn't come out really until the Hippies were loose. That was much later than prehistoric times. They had the wheel then, donchaknow. They had to grind the pills up!

    LOL

I don't know if the bearded Santa will see this or not.

You wouldn't by any chance be referring to the HVP (High Velocity Pork rib) Santa, or did I get it wrong, is it MVP (Multiple high Velocity Pork ribs)?

Well the name tells it all, BCP of course stand for Before Christ Program

    😎

  • I'm going to be on vacation this coming week, but I look forward to catching up on the thread when I return. Everyone have a great week.

  • It is scary how people manage to get into working with databases and then expect others to bail them out when they are in over their head.

And the begging and whining for help just makes it worse.

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.

Some are worse than others. How about three posts in a row from the OP begging for help? I mean, really? Still makes me wonder how they got their job in the first place.

Pretty sure you aren't talking about me but I have found BCP to be quite useful.

You are absolutely right, it is as useful as a long sharp stick when one has to fight off certain managers;-) The down side is that it brings one down to they'r level of technology.

Yeah that was a bit excessive. To boot, he had a duplicate thread claiming he would get fired if somebody didn't give him the answer.

Seems to me he probably should be fired assuming that is his actual job and he is that far away from being able to do it.

I agree. At least he appeared thankful when Lynn spoon fed him. David gave him most of the answer already but he didn't try to do anything with it other than say it doesn't work.

Actually Lynn's solution looked like my first attempt which I deleted as it did not seem to fit the OP's requirements.

    Go figure 😀

Far away is close at hand in the images of elsewhere.
