Are the posted questions getting worse?

Really? Just because SQL Server setup defaults to a CI collation that makes it the "DEFAULT" collation?

    I give up.

I gotta say "Yes." to that one, Lynn. Default = "What is setup with the minimum input from the user/installer", at least to me.

    Not seeing the disconnect.

Like Kraig said, it boils down to minimal effort from person setting it up.

Just saw a post (on another site) that the person had part of a query list but no quest was asked. Someone posted "What is your question?" and the post back "It's in my original post." It was not.

That happens here too. And developers are always whingeing that the specs they are given don't contain sufficient information to complete the task. Gaaah!

    Right.

Or when you propose a solution and they go like "Aaaah yes. But actually in my real-life scenario I need to do it like this..."

That's why we pass the crystal ball around. But it seems somebody has been hogging it of late.:hehe:

Yeah sorry, I dropped it. It's in the shop for repairs.

Likely story. Now we know how you are able to zip through the forums so fast.

Yeah, really. When it gets out of the shop, I'd like to be added to the rotation. I'll even volunteer do the testing to make sure it still works well.

Apparently Craig has it (in his other pants):

    http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic1586022-2799-1.aspx

Ah hah! Now all he has to do is find his pants. :w00t: It's time for a rotation!

    Cute!

It's from the Lego Movie. You probably haven't had much chance to keep up with that sort of stuff. 😉 As usual though, about the only movies worth seeing are the kids ones. Thankfully we have 2 little ones so we have an excuse.

Except that movie was definitely not for kids.

Agreed. My two boys love it since it is all Legos but otherwise it is for adults.

Ha! Well, yeah, I suppose I would refer to a default value as the default. Guilty.

I am doing a bunch of things.

Now I want to do another thing, and it is similar, just in SSIS.

    Please tell me exactly how.

Good test for the Crystal Ball to verify it's been correctly repaired. 😉

  • Love it when they change priorities, not day by day, but minute by minute basis. Makes it a lot of fun to decipher what really needs to be done.

The problem with the ESP network is the signal:noise ratio is bad. I don't want to be hearing what all my colleagues are thinking (really don't) while trying to figure out if an OP has ever written T-SQL before. :hehe:
