Just saw a post (on another site) that the person had part of a query list but no quest was asked. Someone posted "What is your question?" and the post back "It's in my original post." It was not. It'd be great if someone posted a query with no question and when asked "What's your question?" the reply was "Oh, no question, I'm just proud of this one."
Yeah. I had this happen once in the SSIS forums. Some guy posted a solution for refreshing the metadata of the data flow. He was apparently pretty proud of that. When I pointed out there was an alternative that was easier and linked to a few blog post of a SQL Server MVP, he accussed me of shamelessly promoting that blog (which wasn't my own btw) and that I should leave his post alone (although it is a public forum).

At runtime?

Right.
Or when you propose a solution and they go like "Aaaah yes. But actually in my real-life scenario I need to do it like this..."
That's why we pass the crystal ball around. But it seems somebody has been hogging it of late.:hehe:
Yeah sorry, I dropped it. It's in the shop for repairs.
Likely story. Now we know how you are able to zip through the forums so fast.
Yeah, really. When it gets out of the shop, I'd like to be added to the rotation. I'll even volunteer do the testing to make sure it still works well.

It's from the Lego Movie. You probably haven't had much chance to keep up with that sort of stuff. 😉 As usual though, about the only movies worth seeing are the kids ones. Thankfully we have 2 little ones so we have an excuse.

After seeing what Lynn was doing with his mystic abillities of long range mind reading, I figured I'd attempt my own mystic arts... so I made sure I got put into the front of the list via my psyonic abilities. However, I apparently blew the memory fuse when I did that...
...I've once again lost my pants. Usually it's just my shirt at the casino, but my pants after 2 weeks without a day off apparently took a hike without me.
At least my clothing is getting exercise. 😀

Really? Just because SQL Server setup defaults to a CI collation that makes it the "DEFAULT" collation?
I give up.

That would be my guess. You want to lean toward "least surprise" if you in fact don't actually check, and since the question really didn't allow the check, CI it is.

I gotta say "Yes." to that one, Lynn. Default = "What is setup with the minimum input from the user/installer", at least to me.
