Yeah - you two have been quite busy. Where do you find the time?

It is the 134th parameter that allows for extra posting at SSC, unless your current point total is less than 1,000 in which case it is 133rd because the 8th parameter is not required.

Well done Koen!
And in other news, just read Jeff's article on functions... Another stunning Spackle, and one I need to re-read, probably more than once! Nice job there Jeff

As always. Then again, we've come to expect nothing less. I love the hard-data comparison he shows of how the timing mechanism used impacts the result.

Congratulations Koen. You're certainly one of the top posters on Bi.
On a completely different subject, I'm taking 20467BC course this week and found some surprises like using while loops to create sample data, recommendations to use partitioning for performance and nolock hints on every view in the data warehouse to prevent concurrency issues. :w00t:
Are they serious? Should I unlearn something?

I took a course once where I knew more than the teacher. By the end of the week every time the teacher left the room (which was often) the class would ask me for verification. I did learn a couple of things but not what I had hoped to. It was for Visual FoxPro and the teacher kept teaching the pre visual way instead of using the new ways.
Another class I took the first thing the teacher did each day was list the corrections to the Microsoft supplied material.

Help me, help me. I don't know how to use BOL or Google! I need to add 10 years to the current date and getdate() + 10 doesn't work.

Create sample data with while loops? Using nolock? I hope you took a shower afterwards.
