Awful quiet in here over the last couple days...Should we turn out the lights on this thread?
:hehe:
It only takes a gentle poke to wake it.

Anyone else getting real weird formatting in the text box when replying to posts? It's all squished over to the left side of the screen.

Don't notice anything different.

I haven't seen that at all. I did get a few web server errors earlier this morning, but nothing since then.

I used to get that in one of the versions of IE after I had updated it. But it self resolved. Never seen that particular issue in Chrome or Firefox.

Yeah, Firefox just seems to work. IE breaks too much for my taste.

We have lights in here now? THAT's why I've been squinting at the screen so much.

Thought process of last 10 minutes.
- Tune a proc quick, then go home
- Wait, it's got user defined functions
- Wait, the UDFs have cursors
- I'm going home!

Go home before you kill the developer or after you kill him?

I doubt anyone knows who the responsible party is. Tuning a client's system, one that's been developed by 'experts' and enhanced by everyone and their dog and has been around long enough it remembers what upgrading to SQL 2000 was like.

The cursors in the UDFs call more UDFs with more cursors?

Fortunately no, they're just doing string concatenation the hard way.

Yeah, really. It's Friday at 11:30 EST, so I think that sounds like a good idea.
