This was a funny topic 😀 (especially the last replies)Sorry, am a little short on patience today.
I pretty much laughed with the "I have a working and a non-working solution, what do I have to do?" reply of the OP 🙂
For what it's worth, Gail, I thought your response was completely appropriate. He had a working solution and therefore knew what the problem was, so he knew how to get from the non-working to the working. He still wanted someone to do it for him. Sigh.

I took pity and made the suggestion he probably needed.

I almost spit my coffee on the screen when I saw that. It was pretty much exactly what everyone else was thinking. Thanks for saying it for all of us. 😛

Did I miss the suggestion of hiring a consultant? That seems to me to be what he really needs:-D

That too. But how often can we post that suggestion... and repeat it for certain posters... and repeat it again... and maybe another 43 times...

Although I think Grant offered up more of a real solution.
Likely the issue wasn't as isolated as it might appear.
Reminded me of working on a Chinese instance of JDE.
Traditional, Simplified, and some improperly formatted Unicode.
And they even had some records with a mix of the issues in the same field.

Maybe the data cleanser is the best approach afterall.

Set the example, give the advice, second a suggestion, but don't beat people over the head. Not everyone is ready to hear, or heed, the advice right away.
It takes time.

Close enough if you add nose, goatee and some color. 😀

You know, I think that was a great series of the genre. Just like I read the Tolkien series when I was in school, I wonder if, years from now, the Potter series will be looked at just as favorably.

Except the last book. By the gods that lady needed a good strong editor to tell her NO!
