Yeah, that one is killing me. Vague weirdness, badly edited execution plans quite literally changing everything we can see, I'm pretty sure I'm done without more meaningful input.

Don't you get it? That SELECT statement with it's malformed WHERE clause is proprietary information. No one, on the planet, knows that we use SELECT to pull data from our database. And those column names, no one can ever know that we use ID for identity. This is top secret stuff. The NSA wishes they knew as much about our stuff as that single column name provides...

I know. I thought about posting a request for you to fix my query. Now, I'm not going to tell you anything about my table, indexes, statistics or the query itself. However, after reading your book, I believe that you're the right person to fix it. Let me know when it's done. If you don't get to it, I'll just keep posting without any detail. In what world is this even close to being sane?

There are two better explanations for his reluctance to post a plan which hasn't been obfuscated by beating it with a car door. One - he doesn't want the company he's working for to know that he's getting help doing his job, and two, he doesn't want us to see his whole query because he knows it's a mess and we'll dogpile. Either way it's bl00dy frustrating. So's the OP, and those who are helping are doing a magnificent job with what little they've got.

I've had people who should know better endorse me for skills that I don't possess--an ex-boss of mine endorsed me for Sharepoint, for instance, a skill I have never possessed and have no particular desire to learn.
Rumour has it that LinkedIn are trying to come up with a better endorsement system as the current system isn't particularly good. Somebody I used to work with thinks the system is a waste of time too. He's put skills of 'Lego' and 'Considerate Lover' on his profile and received endorsements. Not from his partner though...
hahaha that's hilarious! I'm going to have to go add Insubordination and Tactlessness to mine...

This person has been posting a lot of threads lately and they are all masked in vagueness to "protect his client". I think that person is so over their head they aren't sure what else to do. For me that name as the OP is enough for me to just look to the next person because there is no help for this one.

Seems quite widespread. I have people whom I last worked with 25 years ago endorsing my prowess in SSIS 🙂
Worse is when people endorse you in the hope that you'll endorse them back, even when they were dismissed for not possessing the skills they claim to have in Linkedin.
I'm going to add Pinball Wizard to mine and see who bites.
