Had a buddy who had a really interesting book about the 'science of Star Trek', talked about how the sci-fi ideas have become or are becoming reality in many ways. Scanners, virtual reality, photon torpedos, etc. fun stuff.
Got that one too, gift from a friend several years back. Very good read.
I love the stuff that keeps getting added to work around certain laws of physics. Exhibit 1: The Heisenberg compensators. That's one piece of startrek technology I wish would come true.

Sometimes I wonder why I post full solutions including test data when the OP doesn't run the test code.
Because it feels so good when you stop??? :w00t:

Then complains that I didn't provide a solution that meets their need. I understand that they may not understand the code, but if they run the test code provided they would see that is does meet their requirements, even if not the best solution.
The link doesn't work, at least for me.
Interesting. I fixed the link in the original post. The problem was that there was a line break after the leading url tag, like this:
[ url ]
http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic714364-8-2.aspx%5B /url ]
Which caused the link to render as this when you clicked on it:
Here is the link done correctly:

Anyone want to take time to write a step-by-step process for restoring a database from full backups and log backups?

OK. I get it. You can't open Books Online or do a search there. And you can't possibly connect to Google and do a search there. But you're perfectly capable of navigating yourself over to SCC and posting a question. Great. Couldn't you also, maybe, just maybe, type a search in the little search box at the top of the FRIGGING SCREEN!

That has to be most super-awesome-nest thread I have seen so far!

Set phasers on slag... there is a slag setting right? Or a "make a puddle of melted glass" setting. Must be.
